WBCQ The Planet SW 7490

An international shortwave broadcast station operating since 1998, the outlet transmits on 7.490 MHz and positions itself as a platform for uncensored, open-access programming. The station is located in Monticello, Maine, and operates on the principle of supporting free speech, accepting programming from outside producers without editorial interference. Its shortwave service is available for lease by independent programmers, with the station advertising some of the most competitive rates in the shortwave industry. A high-powered facility operating on 9.330 MHz with up to 500 kilowatts and a fully rotatable antenna system is also available for lease, enabling signal coverage to virtually any location on Earth. The station maintains a webcast stream alongside its shortwave transmissions and offers archived programming. It accepts paid advertising and programming submissions, making it one of the few remaining open-access shortwave platforms in North America.
