ERT (Elliniki Radiofonia Tileorasi)

Greece's state-owned public broadcasting corporation, operating multiple national radio stations alongside television channels and digital services since 1938.

ERT (Elliniki Radiofonia Tileorasi), the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, is Greece's national public broadcaster headquartered in Athens. Originally established in 1938 as the Radio Broadcasting Service (YRE), ERT has evolved into a comprehensive media organisation operating radio, television, and digital platforms.

The radio division operates several national stations. ERT's flagship stations include ERA 1 (general programming), ERA 2 (cultural and music content), ERA Sport (sports coverage), and multiple regional stations serving different parts of the country. The network also operates thematic music channels covering classical, jazz, and contemporary Greek music.

ERT experienced a dramatic period in its history when the Greek government abruptly shut down the organisation in June 2013 during the financial crisis, dismissing all 2,656 employees. A replacement service (NERIT) was created, but following a change of government, the Hellenic Parliament approved the re-establishment of ERT in April 2015. ERT resumed broadcasting on 11 June 2015 and has since rebuilt its operations across all platforms.
