A commercial FM radio station broadcasting at 99.9 MHz, licensed to Warrenton, Missouri, and serving the western suburban communities of the St. Louis metropolitan area — a region the station helped brand as "the Westplex" in the early 1990s, drawing an analogy to the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The station airs a country music format and operates alongside AM sister station KWRE under the ownership of Kaspar Broadcasting. The station launched in November 1991, founded by Vernon John Kaspar and Steven Charles Kaspar. At launch it operated as "All Hit V100" before transitioning to country. The Westplex designation, coined during the station's pre-launch planning in September 1991, was applied to St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren, and Franklin Counties. KFAV has received recognition from New Music Weekly magazine, which named the station's program director, Mike Thomas, Country Program Director of the Year in both 2007 and 2014. In the same 2014 cycle, New Music Weekly named KFAV "Country Radio Station of the Year." Programming has included nationally syndicated country shows alongside local content. The station holds FCC Facility ID 33465 and serves an audience in the suburban and exurban communities west of St. Louis.
