Dit radiostation biedt gevarieerde programmering.
A news, talk, and sports radio station licensed to Slidell, Louisiana, serving the New Orleans metropolitan area with a particular focus on St. Tammany Parish. Owned by Mapa Broadcasting, a locally based New Orleans company, it is one of the last independently owned stations in the region. The station first signed on in December 1963 under the call letters WBGS, founded by George Mayoral, a broadcasting pioneer later inducted into the NAB Hall of Fame, with the transmitter and studios originally housed in a Slidell automobile dealership. It transitioned through several ownership changes and call sign variations before becoming WSLA on February 27, 1989. The Mayoral family reacquired the station in 1993 following repossession. WSLA carries a primary outlet role for high school football coverage in the Slidell and St. Tammany Parish area and has served as the New Orleans affiliate for the Houston Astros Radio Network. The station suffered flooding and roof damage during Hurricane Katrina, requiring several months of restoration. In addition to its 1560 AM signal, it is simulcast on low-power FM translator W230CR at 93.9 FM and available via online streaming.
