A commercial FM station broadcasting at 98.5 MHz with an adult contemporary format, the outlet is owned by Petracom of Holbrook, LLC, a regional broadcasting company. Unlike many commercial stations operating in the area, the station produces all of its programming locally without reliance on satellite-syndicated content, a distinguishing characteristic for a market of its size. The KRFM call letters were originally assigned to an easy listening station in Phoenix, Arizona, which is now known as KYOT. When that Phoenix station changed its identity in the mid-1980s, a new easy listening station launched using the KRFM designation. The station subsequently shifted to its adult contemporary format and relocated its frequency, moving from 96.5 FM to 98.5 FM on August 10, 2017, with the new frequency license formalized on August 18, 2017. As of 2013, morning programming has featured a show called Tommy Boy in The Morning.
