In November 2008, the format shifted to urban adult contemporary, at which point it began carrying the syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show. In October 2012, the station moved to a country format under the branding "Cat Country 105.9." That format lasted less than a year before the station returned to urban AC in May 2013 under the current "Z 105.9" branding. The station has also simulcast on a digital subchannel of KLWB.
