It operated as "Whistle 92.3" in the early 1990s, then as "All Hit 92.3" from 1995 to 2000, followed by hip-hop, rhythmic CHR as "The Beat of Carolina," rhythmic adult contemporary as "The Party Station," and urban adult contemporary with the ABC Radio Networks-supplied "The Touch" format beginning in 2007. In August 2013 the station briefly aired a 1960s-leaning classic hits stunt before pairing with WQZL as "Jack FM" the following day.
