The station is owned by Great Country Broadcasting, Inc. and holds FCC Facility ID 24945. KIBS-FM has a discontinuous history: the station originally signed on in 1967 before going dark in 1969. John Young subsequently acquired KIBS-AM in 1985 and later purchased KIOQ-FM in Bishop, at which point the KIBS call letters were transferred to the FM frequency at 100.7 MHz, establishing the current configuration.
