This radio station began broadcasting on January 28, 1991, at 7:00 AM, under the direction of Jaime Díaz Torres. It was established as the first radio station in the country with facilities located within a residential neighborhood. Initially, programming was hosted by Jorge «Pollo» Reyes (deceased), Patricio «Pato» Vargas, and Juan Carlos Poblete «El Lobito». The station broadcasts 24 hours a day and has maintained uninterrupted transmissions for over 33 years. Its programming includes a variety of music genres, such as Tropical music during the show "La Alegre Mañana" with Lobito and Don Gallo, and "Música del Recuerdo" (Music of Remembrance) during "La Alegre Tarde" with Wilson Salas. Weekend programming features "Tangos y Boleros" on Saturdays and "Vecinos y Amigos" on Sundays. The station also airs "Salud al Día" on Mondays with Dr. Oscar Tapia and "Nutrilove" on Tuesdays with Nut. Alonso Gallardo. The station's mission includes offering public utility services such as job postings, missing person searches, blood donor requests, and community greetings, alongside providing high-level information. Additionally, a television signal, Carnaval TV, was launched as an educational and recreational alternative, featuring content like music video clips from the past, documentaries, and medical advice, with a vision to support local artists and promote cultural identity.
