A commercial FM radio station broadcasting at 93.9 MHz and serving the Iron Range region of northeastern Minnesota. Licensed to Hibbing and owned by Midwest Communications, the station operates a hybrid hot adult contemporary and modern adult contemporary format, with a playlist drawing primarily from the 1990s, 2000s, and current hits, supplemented occasionally by 1980s tracks. The station transmits from a 486-foot (148 m) tower located southwest of downtown Hibbing on Town Line Road, using a twelve-bay FM antenna shared with sister station WUSZ. It does not broadcast in digital HD Radio. Nationally syndicated programs aired include American Top 40 and Open House Party. During the 1980s, the station carried a contemporary hit radio format and operated an FM translator on 97.7 MHz in Duluth. That translator went dark in the late 1990s when its owner sold off the tower and equipment. By 2008, the station began incorporating adult top 40 material during evening hours, gradually evolving into its current hot AC-leaning orientation to address a format gap in the local market. Midwest Communications operates six additional stations on the Iron Range alongside this one — WUSZ, WMFG, KQDX, WDKE, WEVE, and KDAH — all sharing studio facilities on West 37th Street in Hibbing. The group was acquired from a prior owner in a transaction valued at $5.4 million.
