A 5,000-watt community AM radio station serving the Copper River Valley in Southcentral Alaska, situated at the intersection of the Glenn and Richardson Highways at the edge of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, approximately 187 miles northeast of Anchorage. The station first went to air in March 1964, during the period of the Great Alaska Earthquake. Rooted in a Christian heritage, KCAM is operated as a ministry and offers programming designed to serve the broader community alongside its faith-based content. Regular programming includes national and local news, local weather forecasts, community announcements, and a range of music spanning country to contemporary Christian. Family and children's programs are also featured in its schedule.
