Coventry Hospital Radio

Established in 1972, this hospital radio service operates 24/7, broadcasting directly to patient bedside units. Managed by a committee elected every two years, the station relies on a dedicated team of volunteers. Listeners can request songs by phoning directly from their bedside unit or via an outside line, and can also send requests through WhatsApp. The station offers a 'listen again' feature via Mixcloud. Programming includes music selections, and listeners can explore the programme schedule and presenter profiles. The service is funded entirely by donations and fundraising events, as it does not receive funding from the NHS or UHCW. The station has been shortlisted for an award at the HBA awards. Listeners can also access the service via Alexa devices. The website also features local news and weather updates.
