0:10 Voce 1 Does the global market or anything in principle change?
0:12 Voce 2 No, in fact, the turbulence is very high. And now, by the way, the situation is much worse than it was in the spring. Why? Because, as it was in March. In March, it is always a dead season in the world, consumption of fuel, and there were high reserves. What is today? Today, on the contrary. Today, the maximum demand per season is high. This is every year and will last until the end of September. And the reserves, on the contrary, are minimal. Because they were simply eaten in the spring. The United States, in particular, I think you have seen, read about the fact that they were exhausted up to the age of 40, it seems, at the minimum points, they were emptied. That is, the Americans, yes, they earned a lot in the spring, they actually saved Europe, by the way. For money, of course, for the rough. They earned very well, but there are no reserves, no one managed to renew them. Because it was a truce, it was only in June. In June, no one did anything special. Therefore, today consumption is high, supplies are minimal, and so far the end of the story is not visible. Therefore, the situation is so, let's say, anxious.
1:15 Voce 3 Is it possible to say that Ukraine is the most difficult, given the war, the lack of full access to sea ports, the dependence on neighboring countries, and how vulnerable Ukraine is due to the fact that it is actually at the end of European supply chains of fuel?
1:30 Voce 2 Well, there are certain risks. For example, a very unpleasant harvest remained from the spring, when the price went up in the first days of March. The Poles immediately closed exports, not only to Ukraine, but in general. The Romans closed, the Moldovans closed, and it was always considered that we had such a diversified system.
1:53 Voce 1 Everyone thinks about themselves in the first place.
1:55 Voce 2 Yes, that is, my skirt is closer to the body, so yes, they were fast, our government worked well, somehow brought it to the bottom, they opened those supplies, but, as they say, the sediment remained. And today, too, a lot of, I don't know, maybe already some kind of phantom pain, but the day before yesterday it was clear that it seemed that the Poles were thinking about something again. But in August they cut the sales by 20-30%, depending on the company. But not for political reasons, they say that something happened at the factory. It happens. And yesterday it was clear that the Romanians were already thinking about what to do there. Therefore, in fact, the situation is not very pleasant. But again, supply is not limited to these countries. Let's remember the experience of 1922 and those divine logistics routes that were then. For example, this is a legendary route that OKO passed from Antwerp. From Antwerp, that is, Western Europe. It's simple. And there is logistics. It's not just far away. They also brought this factory to Antwerp on the islands. They loaded it into a river barge. They pulled it to the German port by rail. They were filling up the cars there, and it was going to Ukraine by cars. The logistics took a couple or two or three months, but they brought that gasoline.
3:20 That is, I'm talking about the fact that we are almost at the end, but on the other hand, we have where to go, Europe is big, and again, you pay money and you can get it.
3:32 Voce 1 That is, compared to 2022, we are now talking about the fact that yes, it will be difficult, yes, it will be expensive, But about the shortage of lines at the gas stations, the language is not going yet.
3:42 Voce 2 No, it's not going yet, although the situation is really tense. Tense, well, look, the force majeure is here. The issue is not only in Hormuz. That is, here it is clear, as our proverb says, that the poor do not come alone. Not only that this war in Iran and ours here. What happened now? Why is the situation so borderline, so we are going along the border? Because we saw attacks in the south. In fact, a blocked grain corridor. what the peasants are doing. We turned to dry land and cars, railways. This is again an increase in consumption. We still have no fuel, there are extra supplies. That is, the companies bought as much as they planned for a normal period. But it's not normal. That is, consumption is growing, consumers are starting to get nervous. Whenever the price starts to rise, everyone says, oh, maybe to the full. And we have two more cans. And we see that, for example, today there is already a message that some networks are struggling with these abuse, when whole trucks come to the gas station and just fill up a thousand liters from the gun into the tanks, and in two hours they come back. Today there were limits for 100 liters. 100 liters is a lot for a physio person, but there are no such tanks. Therefore, there are some deviations, as to the fact that consumption is growing and, accordingly, no one expected it.
5:06 And so everyone ran to look for additional amounts. It does not happen quickly, because there are also suppliers sitting there. We are not waiting for you. There is someone to sell here. Let's go further, to Germany. We haven't reached the Netherlands yet, but there are such logistical stretches.
5:24 Voce 3 In 2022, Russia massacred oil plants and destroyed Ukrainian oil processing power. Now it is systematically attacking gas stations. What does such a change mean and what does Russia want to achieve in the first place by striking gas stations? Is it to complicate logistics? Is it to destroy the physical reserves of fuel or just to scare people, their consumers, into such a business?
5:48 Voce 2 It's terrorism, yes. That is, it, let's say, worsens the quality of life, scares people. But another important, in my opinion, goal of these attacks is propaganda. That is, they found themselves in a situation where millions of people stand without fuel on gas stations. And here's the picture, look, we are in Ukraine, they are also suffering there, look what we are doing to them. That is, you are not just suffering here, we are also doing it, we are not bad to anyone. I know that I see that even one of my interviews with Solovyov showed, where I state that there is indeed a great impact of refueling. And they just cure everything, that this is the goal achieved. You know, the gas station is on fire. – Special effects. – Yes, it all looks spectacular, unfortunately. So, yes, terrorism of clean water plus propaganda.
6:38 Voce 1 – When Taras Chmuta, the head of the Povernysh Zhyvym Foundation, was asked about the risk of spreading attacks on gas stations, he said that there are still a number of areas at risk, including Kyiv. How realistic, critical is this? And is it possible to prepare for this? Do you need to prepare for this at all?
6:56 Voce 2 Well, of course, we need to prepare. Can they fly? They can, of course. Will it have any consequences? Well, it will not. Why? Because today there is a lot of what is in the government, there is now this issue on a daily basis. There is no region, no matter how difficult the situation is, that somewhere there is no fuel, that people cannot refuel. Well, there are. Yesterday I talked to our communication networks, 85% of the attacked stations have already restored work or are in the process of restoration. Yes, 10-15% will not be restored, because it is very close to the combat zone, where everything is already flying. But the gas station seems to have a consumerist stereotype that everything is burning and exploding, but in fact it is not so easy to destroy it. Because there are underground reservoirs, if something explodes on the top, the equipment suffers, but the valves work, the fuel supply stops and it feels normal there. So we changed the new column, the pump is new, and we went on. Instead of what they are doing now, they are just putting a concrete building, there is a cash machine, a control system in it, and we went on working. We stretched the nets, closed the sand. Yes, this is not the station that we are used to, this is a fortification structure, but it does its function.
8:21 I don't know where it came from, but we have such a love for simple solutions. Someone said, oh, let's have a transshipment gas station. We are like, oh my God, it's like some technology from space is coming to us. What is a transshipment gas station? It's a gas station with a gun. And if the gas station has these tanks underground, then it's an underground tank. Imagine, it will be a disaster if people come there. No, on the bright side, the moving gas stations are our future.
8:56 Voce 1 That is, we don't need some deregulation of the fuel market, some simplified requirements.
9:02 Voce 2 There are no problems. The main thing is that there are no problems. That is, everything works. Where did it come from that something happened?
9:11 Voce 1 People hear a lot of news, for example, the mayor of Trostenets says that all the gas stations are destroyed in the city, and immediately everyone has such huge eyes, what are we going to do?
9:19 Voce 2 I see news that Trostenets has a deficit of fuel, maybe something is destroyed, but to say that people suffer without fuel there is no such thing, so this problem is exaggerated, let's say.
9:30 Voce 3 About people. You have already said how the constant threat of attacks affects both workers and truck drivers. And is there a deficit of personnel a separate problem for the market?
9:43 Voce 2 The situation is very bad, and this is understandable. That is, people are nervous not only and afraid not only in those hot spots, in hot regions, but also in the rear areas, We see that there are no huts there, you can fly anywhere you want. Therefore, there is really a problem. I even know that one of the networks is practicing. They even take employees from other regions, ask who wants to work. There is a separate X2 fee and they are taken to these regions so that people can work. And there is a problem. Well, the drivers of the gas stations are generally, I don't know, people-heroes, or really, well, a lot of people refuse to go. Someone goes, again, these companies are working on insurance, so that people are interested in something. Unfortunately, there is no, and again, yes, there is a transfer of gas stations. Well, this is the same gas station. And the gas station is now an even more important goal than a gas station, because it immediately carries a large amount of fuel for several gas stations. In fact, this is a mirror situation. That we are hunting for their gas stations, that they are hunting for ours. That is, here is an absolutely clear situation.
10:55 Voce 1 And how painful is the situation for the Russians now? We are talking about the fact that Ukraine is adapting, but maybe the Russians can also adapt. And can they do something to level the effect of our blows?
11:33 Voce 2 Our Kremenchuk, in order to stop 90 cruise missiles and ballistic missiles, plus 250 drones, this is only what has flown. This is without the fact that how many have been shot down, there was not bad, by the way, the protection was not bad. And here 3 in 10 drones want to stop the Russian oil industry, oil refinery. This does not happen. I will say more that this is a miracle what we see. That with such a weak weapon so many factories were destroyed, they were stopped. These are direct losses of the aggressor just on all fronts. This is unthinkable. If you compare the value of these drones and the damage they have done, these are non-contradictory things. I don't think it's even a thousand times. That is, it is very effective in the war on the equipment. Yes, it can't stop the Russians, but it's a very serious blow to them. And here, I don't know, I take off my hat in front of our military guys. How can you beat like that? It's just unbelievable. It is an unexpected result.
12:31 Voce 3 How do the Ukrainian strikes on the Russian NPPs reflect on the global and European oil prices? And are they reflected on the Ukrainian gasoline prices?
12:42 Voce 2 It is difficult to say that it was worth 2 hryvnias to burn it. But not directly, but indirectly. In principle, it affects what is happening now. For example, the Russians were forced to close the export of non-fuel. They are a huge exporter, perhaps the largest exporter of diesel in the world, in the world markets. They closed. What is happening? Turkey, which took a million tons from them per month. We consume 500,000 for proof. That is, twice as much as we all consume. And now there is no million. What is it doing? It goes to the European market and just buys the fuel that we used to buy. And it's hard for us to compete with them, because we don't have our own ports. We can't buy big tanks, it's profitable for the sellers, and it increases prices, and it pushes prices up. They have a deficit. What are they doing? They are starting to block these parties from all over the world. And now, if Europe has always been proficient in gasoline, there was a lot of it. And it didn't cost a penny, let's say, it was very cheap. Now it doesn't. That is, it has also gone somewhere. Therefore, it affects, but it does not mean that it was not necessary to do it so that they would continue to export, so that they would continue to buy by import. This is all a loss for them, this is all a great loss. We will somehow fix it. That is, we will pay 2 hryvnias more, temporarily.
14:04 There are billions of dollars that they lose for the absence of export and for the fact that they import expensive gasoline from the world market and are forced to pay for it from the budget to importers in order to subsidize this gasoline for Russia.
14:20 Voce 3 Did Ukrainians start to drive less when the prices for fuel rose? Or did the demand for fuel stay the same?
14:26 Voce 2 Literally today I watched the sales in half a year, in months. Even in March there was a splash, because everyone was fishing. This is fuel. On the contrary, whenever the price rises, consumption increases. No, it does not affect. This, by the way, is one of the openings of this crisis in the spring. In the whole world, there is no drop in consumption. But this does not mean that such long-term processes are not launched. For example, we see that the popularity of electric cars is increasing. In the spring, in Europe, Germany, France, there is a 60% increase in previous indicators. That is, it is based on the future, people will remember that this is what happens and, accordingly, we do not need all these surprises, we sit down for electricity, for example.
15:16 Voce 1 What can the Ukrainian government do best now to ease the course of this difficult period? Just not get involved?
15:23 Voce 2 It is already clear that there will be no fuel.
15:36 Thank God, we got used to it in 2022. What can they do? First of all, the government has state monopolies, transport, even Ukrainian Railways. Today, grain is exported, we need fuel for import, but the capacity of the railway is limited. And here, first of all, it is necessary to set priorities. Because grain is, of course, our money, but fuel is our stability. If we have money and there is no fuel, it is much worse. Accordingly, it is necessary to work with logistics at the level of state companies. to work with logistics, what can be activated, to transfer these flows in a non-standard way. Secondly, we have since 2022 such a tool as Carnavta in the government. The state company has the largest network of gas stations to date. It showed itself not bad in the spring. In particular, it received a lot of support from the government. They did it, they even had to really conserve some non-standard routes. for example, from Germany. Yes, it is expensive, yes, it is long. They did it.
16:43 Voce 1 And it was a positive story.
16:44 Voce 2 Yes, that is, it is a full market and it kills that same attitude, it disappeared very quickly. Well, they still have such an aspect as a price. That is, they would tell them to trade without an estimate. Well, okay, good. It worked out, their sales grew repeatedly, they became the biggest seller. But on the other hand, well, also such a story from the point of view There is an anti-monopoly committee, we are for competition, and so on, and the government says that you will trade with us without an estimate. And how will it be for another business? That is, there is no one to support another business. And there is no shareholder who says, listen, we did not earn, well, it's okay. The business must earn, and therefore there must be some kind of balance. Yes, there are crisis situations when the supply of fuel is OK, well, super. When it comes to eliminating these innovations, this competition, well, it seems to me that it is already some consumers, we have a state army, well, maybe, yes, it can be done there. But in general, well, it's such a ... that is, well, what can it lead to? That someone just dies. Well, some private network, it just cannot compete with the same Ukrainian oil, it will go out of the market. Accordingly, the competition will become less, the business will become less, the jobs will become less. Well, that's why such a thin ice is very. In fact, many governments abuse this, for example, the Polish one. They had elections in the 23rd year, when PiS clashed with Tusk and so on, when they lost power.
18:13 In general, they froze prices, and despite the 20% growth of the foreign market, they kept them. They had no fuel, they were simply drying them out, because they were the cheapest. And they have already published signs that we have a repair, something else. Although, how can there be a repair of two pistols, diesel and gasoline? There is a repair on this, but not on this. That is, they have already invented something. These deformations are very dangerous. It's the politicians who are playing. Therefore, I hope that we will still find some solution when Ukornaft will be such a full-fledged player. Indeed, it will be valuable, but it will not ruin the competition in this market, which is, by the way, unique.
18:51 Voce 1 In addition to this, in addition to Ukrnafta, in the spring we had a national cashback on Palne. Now they seem to have forgotten about it, they do not introduce it, they do not mention it. It may seem that now this crisis is somehow easier or simpler. At least so far. What is your assessment of the national cashback on Palne? Did it help the market or was the negative mostly positive?
19:13 Voce 2 So what is the negative? In fact, what is the matter? they criticized the government for the fact that they throw out money, that there is no trade, and so on, and you are still doing populism here. In fact, according to our calculations, on the one hand, they gave away that money, and on the other hand, they received additional taxes in the form of VAT at the price raised. That is, VAT is 60 hryvnias per liter. How much will we have there? 10 hryvnias, right? And from 90 hryvnias, it will already be 15 hryvnias. That is, the state earned 5 hryvnias per liter simply at the expense of increasing the base tax. And this income on taxes, it just made up the amount of this cashback. There is something like 3 billion hryvnias. That is, for state finances, in fact, it was zero. That is, the state did not spend extra money there.
19:58 Voce 1 But they could direct it, for example, to the army or something else.
20:01 Voce 2 They could, they could. But again, this cashback, who used it the most? There was only a thousand hryvnias per month. What is a thousand hryvnias? 1000 hryvnias when you had gasoline there, well, diesel, let it be 100, well, how much is it there? 10 liters, or how much? Well, that is, in fact, it is not a lot of money, and not everyone used it. You know, to be honest, I never used it, but it was interesting for me. Well, I think, well, how does it work? And so I put it in, put it in, in short, I still could not use it. Because if I put a check somewhere in the bank account, I won't be able to pay it. And accordingly, I just think that a lot of people who either didn't use it, or it's just such a penny that it didn't affect anything. So I don't think the government will do anything like that now. The main importance for him is to fill the market with fuel, to help the market bring more fuel, maybe with some Ukrainian oil, to keep the prices a little, to hold them a little. But again, what is Ukrainian oil? Ukrainian oil is also an importer of fuel. There is no magic wand that we have free fuel. No, they bring it from where all the rest is. And accordingly, they do not have the opportunity to stop the growth of oil. This is not possible.
21:20 Voce 1 By the way, let's talk about fuel consumption. On July 1, in Ukraine, there is a demand to add more than 7% of bioethanol to the majority of gasoline. This is a European standard. This fuel is safe for cars. We will not focus on this now. But how does this demand affect the Ukrainian market and its fuel saturation in the crisis period?
21:41 Voce 2 It has a bad effect, really. I don't know why we are constantly bringing problems to ourselves. It's a national fun. It's a cool topic. There are 10. In general, alcohol-based gasoline. We are a producer, we are a agricultural country. We have a lot of corn, we export it as raw material. Super, let's make alcohol, add it to the fuel, we will load our agricultural complex and import less, export currencies abroad in the form of gasoline. The problem is that for some reason the deputies don't see that there is a war in the country now. No one wants to produce this fuel in the country now. Because it's dangerous, it's production. You need a tank with gasoline, a tank with bio-components, you need to mix it. These are safe risks, first of all. Of course, this is the first and main thing. And another such cool thing. I was there about three weeks ago at the meeting of our alcoholics. They openly say that our tax system does not allow you to buy bioethanol from our liquor factory, even if you want to. That is, you will simply not be competitively capable in this market. To make it clear, in order for you to buy alcohol and bring it to your gas station, where you will add it, you need to put live tax collectors in a booth in the 21st century. so that he would sit and watch what was going on there, where it was going.
23:09 To take a liter of bioethanol, you need to put 130 hryvnias per liter in a tank of gasoline. 130 hryvnias. Gasoline costs 80 hryvnias, you need to put 130 hryvnias, that is, such a bank insurance, so that you, God forbid, do not go there, move that bioethanol, make that gasoline, and then the state will turn off that gasoline for you. That is, this is a huge amount of money. Taxes are in the bag. A lot of cameras need to be installed. In short, even if you want, you can't do anything. You just need to reform this tax system and control this production. There is no such thing in Europe. In general, there is no interest on all this. In short, neither from a security point of view, nor from a tax point of view, it does not work today. Therefore, today there are ten guidance. This is, first of all, the stimulation of not our alcoholics, but the European ones, who will sell this alcohol to European factories, they will sell it more. And the second is that we will also pay additional money. Not much, up to one hryvnia per liter. But who is it for? Do we have extra money for this? Why is that? What did we decide? Nothing. Who did we stimulate? European producers. No need to introduce. They introduced little of what we brought ourselves. In the summer, we have a high consumption, and our traditional suppliers, Romanians, Poles, Germans, they can't increase the amount of alcohol-based gasoline for us, there are limited possibilities for this.
24:34 And always this valve, when it was already blown up, there was not enough fuel, we brought it, for example, from such areas as Greece, sea. And now we can't do this, because they don't produce food.
24:45 Voce 1 And they don't produce, although this is a European standard.
24:48 Voce 2 Yes, but this plant is export-oriented, in addition to that, it is somehow in the middle of the country, there is another enterprise that closes it, but they are not interested in it. Today we take it, tomorrow the season will end, they will not take it. That is, that's it, and we are already confused, I see us with gasoline too. We go to the edge, why was it done? It was obvious, it was forewarned. No, they did it, and now you do what you want, as they say.
25:17 Voce 1 In 2025, this requirement for added bioethanol was postponed for a year. Now it has not been postponed. Again, from July 1, it is valid. I can't even understand who it is beneficial for. That is, even if you start looking for some kind of corruption story or something else, there is no such thing. It is not considered. Why can't it be postponed again? It is an absolutely incomprehensible decision.
25:42 Voce 2 Alcoholics were lobbying. This is understandable. That is, they want to produce more. We have a quota in Europe for export, but we are constantly being beaten there, we are constantly being torpedoed there, and, by the way, sometimes torpedoed by the law, because there are various machinations there, let's say. They want to sell here, so that they can buy this bioethanol and, accordingly, earn money there, make more of it, maybe even export something, sell it here. But this is not a task, this is a war in Ukraine. For everyone, this is news for some reason. No one wanted to buy them, because it is difficult and dangerous.
26:16 Voce 1 And sportsmen can't do it themselves?
26:21 Voce 2 Well, what is gasoline? Gasoline is what is sold exclusively through columns. Well, such gasoline is not needed for columns. That is, they have foreign manufacturers there. This is a question of marketing. One thing is when you say that you brought it from Orlin, from Lithuania, from Germany, and when you made it somewhere in Gaisyn. This is such a story. That is, especially people who drive gasoline, they are very focused on quality. They love their cars very much. This is not diesel. Diesel is like that. They look like that. As for gasoline, we see that even the largest sales of gasoline are in the networks that sell it at a high price. This indicates that people are willing to pay more, but for the guarantee of quality.
27:05 Voce 1 What is happening to the shadow market of the fuel industry now? We know that in 2023 there were at least 22 oil refineries that were engaged in the production of low-quality fuel. This is official data. Now, with the crisis, does it still exist, does it shrink, or does it start to grow again, and those who do not closely monitor the quality begin to use these services?
27:31 Voce 2 Objectively, what happened to it? Until 2022, I also tried to actively fight this phenomenon. It is about a mini-NPZ, that is, a primitive transformation. Plus, they added some octane-increasing deposits there, imported them and drove them. They could not do anything with them. Because they had enough to carry all the prosecutors, policemen, and so on. Firefighters, that is, nothing came out. Such a tragic end, most of them were bombed by Russia. At the beginning of the war, in the framework of this program on the destruction of fuel infrastructure, many of them were destroyed. But literally today I had a conversation. It is actually impossible to buy gas condensate now.
28:16 Who needs it, it is clear. There is no processing, as if in Ukraine, but for some reason there is such a demand for condensate. This is the main raw material for these miners. And bioethanol, also on the components of these octane amplifiers, is just a price tag, it is now more expensive for gasoline.
28:33 And here, too, the state, honestly, what is really happening, that is, there is bioethanol, as I said, it is not possible, it is difficult to buy, because if you say that this is bioethanol, that's it, there are a lot of restrictions and taxes. It turns out that we have a beer factory that has permission to produce some kind of solvent. That is, this beer factory does not produce bioethanol on paper, but some kind of solvent for the lacquer industry. That is, in fact, it is the same bioethanol, but on paper it is some kind of solvent. And it just goes directly, without taxes, without taxes, it just goes somewhere and disappears somewhere, no one knows. And this happens, the tax office knows about it, everyone knows about it, that is, there is a lot of control, taxes are all in the camera booth, but such a thing works. Cover this channel, that's it, they just won't have a component that burns in gasoline, this shadow market will suffocate, well, they won't be able to do it. Well, for some reason it works, in fact.
29:32 Voce 3 That is, to say that after a full-scale invasion, the market has become more transparent is not possible?
29:37 Voce 2 Well, you can. That is, there are fewer of them. According to our estimates, there are about five left. Yes, the most beaten, but left. Well, they even started paying for something. We see that famous players are paid, but again, they pay for everything. What part of production do they pay for? Who is following this? There are very big doubts. And we see the quality control. Sometimes we make gas fences, especially. Especially diesel. And you can see that there are parameters such as, for example, oxygen, benzoyl, aromatic hydrocarbons. Here they scale, and this is the main sign that something was added then, and without laboratory control, this thing comes out. So, there is this gasoline. I will not say that this is a disaster, but you are on the market.
30:25 Voce 1 These are five NPPs in the country, this is not about anything, and how not to get into this thing?
30:30 Voce 2 In terms of gasoline, I think it's about 10% of the minimum. It doesn't mean that it's all bad. They understand that if you spoil something bad, it's business for a long time. That's why they're still trying to do something more or less human. It's not like before, it's not a horror. But here are the issues in taxes, which were very important for the state.
30:54 How to fight? Very simple. The main sign of bad is the price. The low price is minimal. This is already a sign that you need to be on the alert. Except for Ukrnaft. They have a lower price than Ukrnaft. Because Ukrnaft imports gasoline, there is no problem. Or at the level of Ukrnaft. This is also a question. The state network keeps the margin lower, as a rule. And here someone is not so big and for some reason also has such an economy. I understand that the consumer does not think about it, but in fact, I do not buy the cheapest products in the store, because I do not believe in these things. Therefore, a low price should always be taken care of.
31:39 Voce 3 We are writing a podcast at the end of July, and it is already time to ask about the winter. What should we prepare for? How much is Ukrainian fuel logistics ready for potential blackouts, frosts, winters?
31:54 Voce 2 I remember how many times it was like this, that we have already overcome this and that, and it seems like everything is fine, but again something was bombed, something flew somewhere and everything began to shake again. To say that we will get through everything, we are strong and strong, and so on. We must always consider the worst. The Russians need to give them what they deserve. They are systematically, constantly looking for these points. Painful and so on. And they will continue to do this. Because they have bitten, we see. They are just copying us. We are on the NPP, they are on gas stations. We are on Wildberries, they are on Novaya Poshta. And so on. Therefore, they will continue to do this, they will continue to look for these places, they are successful in this, unfortunately. We understand that there is a narrow space, so we need to expand somewhere else. And now, by the way, from the latest news, we see that Merezha Oko, for example, they have been with this project for a long time. They got the opportunity to go directly to the sea in Poland through a state Polish operator. It is not that there is such a huge sluice, but they themselves can now buy and transport it to Ukraine on the global market. This is a plus, a new source of supply. But again, this is an iron, accordingly, also narrow, like a bottleneck.
33:21 But I'm talking about the fact that companies are constantly working. UPG has its own terminal in Szczecin, they bought it in 2022. In Germany, some companies are now laying contracts there. now some companies are setting up there, that is, it is also constantly developing, all the new routes are constantly being laid out. This winter was very difficult, that is, I don't know, not only that, but there were frozen ports in the Baltic Sea, and the rails were frozen, and the wagons fell there, And this frost, it was a real horror. They came, they came. Now they've got additional ones. There's a good war going on there, we still have the weather. I made such a joke when we picked out all the arctic firewood that was in Europe in general. This is such a brand, they don't do much. Well, because there are rarely such winters. We picked it out, there is a gas station in Finland, even drove there for this firewood. When necessary, we bring it. But to say that we have something as a guarantee, unfortunately, it is not possible. There may be surprises, you need to get ready.
34:23 Voce 3 Get ready for the worst and hope that we will be ready. I remind you that you listened to the podcast about economics from the Center for Economic Strategy, together with the Public Radio for the Support of PrivatBank. With us today was Serhiy Koyun, the director of the consulting group A-95. My name is Angelina Zavodetska, together with me was my co-host Maxim Sumyliuk. Watch, listen, learn about the Ukrainian economy, buy Ukrainian. Thank you!
35:03 Voce 5 Public Radio. Listen. Think. This segment of the broadcast is worth listening to.
35:10 Voce 3 Public Radio has presented a new brand strategy. What is behind this renewal, how the media change during the war and what does it mean for the audience, says the chief editor of Public Radio, Victoria Yermolaeva. Mariana Cherniyevich is in the air.
35:28 Public Radio has presented a new brand strategy. under the slogan, listen, think, act, to which we have been teaching and inviting our audience for a long time. September, so to speak, is coming, a new learning season, a season of changes, and here are the changes on our radio. Tell our audience what has changed for them in their perception of how our media will look like and what is behind these changes in general.
35:58 Voce 4 Very soon, the Public Radio will celebrate its birthday. It is in August, and we are turning 13 years old. That is, to the reborn Public Radio, which began to appear before the Revolution of Dignity. And I remind you that several journalists who decided to fight censorship, they restored the media, I'm sorry, the air alarm. We restored the media that is independent, that has the honor to speak the truth. Because back then, the media market did not have the means of mass information that would not work out someone's contracts, orders, or work in the interests of politicians and businesses. And we grew up from the initiative, where there were two speakers, no studio, no frequency, into a fairly large media organization. Therefore, the time has come for some changes. We have generalized all our ideas and thoughts on how public radio should develop and presented a new brand strategy. Now, the public radio is not only a radio station, it is also a whole ecosystem. It is, as we say, a radio that sounds on all platforms.
37:22 In addition to the radio, we have YouTube channels, podcast platforms, social networks and websites, on which there is very interesting content, and we encourage you to subscribe. And in order to combine all of this, all of our earnings from working on one well-known story, we presented the renewed visual identity. We renewed the logo, the color system, the fonts, the design materials, and most importantly, we very clearly formulated our mission, positioning, and communication principles. If you know what our logo looks like, these are the dots that remain with us. These are the eight principles of the public radio, our principles of work. And also, Maryana, you already said about the slogan, listen, think, act. These are not just words, this is such a principle. we want not to increase the information noise, but, on the contrary, to help people to orient themselves in the information space, to explain the importance of events, to show a broader context, and, what is important in this word, to act. It is necessary to help find answers and understand what to do after we have received this or that information.
38:49 We do not just inform, we give tools to the hands.
38:54 Voce 3 Regarding identity, I paid attention to the fonts that have changed, which were developed by a special designer. And especially recently, when we no longer have a single scandal about fonts and their use, not quite Ukrainian and not quite always of legal origin at the highest levels in Ukraine, It was very nice to see this. Can you tell us a little more about this font, on the basis of what it was created and, perhaps, what was the request from us in general, or did the designer himself come up with this proposal, understanding for whom he creates it and what it should be?
39:38 Voce 4 We were really afraid to make a mistake with the fonts and chose the Ukrainian designer Vitaly Godzaniuk. Because often the fonts we are used to, which are found in Google Documents or simply in Word, They were created in the past and continue to be created by the Russians, who enter the international market. And this is a little-known fact, that fonts are a whole business. It's a big market. They need to be bought in order to be recognized by you. And so on. That's why we bought the Ukrainian identity. GraftsRift and Graftsense. Vitaly Hutsaniuk said that it was based on the graphics of what the Ukrainian legal system looked like in the books that were filled out. So, for us, it is a symbol, a way to recognition, and, of course, we support only Ukrainian.
40:48 Voce 3 For me, as a person, which is probably one of my main topics on the air, it is, in principle, about support for Ukrainian, it was especially pleasant to read about it yesterday, and about the fact that it was based on the fonts of the 18th century, if I'm not mistaken, the century was also used, and this is just one more thing for the topic of popularization of fonts, and that everything that costs some intellectual work, it must be paid for, it cannot just be downloaded and used. And in general, it is also about the fact that a new culture is being built and Ukrainian experts are involved in the creation of this culture, and this is very cool. In addition to the fact that it is not just a new logo and identity, but it is also a new way of speaking to the audience. What exactly will we change for the listeners, readers, or, of course, in what directions will we move?
41:47 Voce 4 We want to focus more on decision-making in journalism. This is exactly the word to act in our slogan. And we really want a person who has heard this or that news or conversations on this or that topic on the air understand that something can be done about it. At the level of your family, your yard, your community, or at the level of the whole Ukraine, you can apply for changes. You can sign a petition if you are not provided with something in your region. You can initiate it. You can turn to organizations that make changes and support this organization, or join and become a part of it, or get help there. You can unite with like-minded people, you can look for a community. You can even go to some events, to which people come who share with you their thoughts. That is, there are ways to influence your life, there are ways to influence your community and those around you. And it is very important that we give people these tools in our content that they consume, so that people do not look for this information somewhere and find it on the public radio.
43:18 Voce 3 We spoke with the chief editor-in-chief, Victoria Yermolaeva, about the fact that the public radio presented a new brand strategy. See you!
47:18 Welcome! You are listening to the news on the public radio. Valeria Panenko is working in the studio. One person was killed in Odesa due to a Russian attack on the enterprise. Eight more were injured. This was reported by the DPR.
47:33 Vehicles and dry grass were burned in the place of the attack. Rescue workers immediately liquidated all fires, details and scale of the attack are being clarified.
47:42 Tomorrow, in the Kyiv region, the day of mourning for the victims of the Russian missile attack is announced. This was reported by Tomur Tkachenko, the head of the Kyiv OVA. The state flags of Ukraine will be released in the region as a sign of remorse, and they will also restrict the conduct of entertainment activities. I remind you that at 12 o'clock, due to a Russian-made missile-and-drone strike, 16 people were killed and another 36 were injured. The most injured was Brovarskyi district. There, the enemy killed 10 people and another 16 were injured. 19 objects, 7 construction sites, production premises, three private households, a greenhouse and seven trucks. Five people were killed in Buchansk region and 16 others were injured. 40 buildings, five public buildings, a private household and 34 vehicles were damaged. One person was killed in Fastivsk region and four others were injured. 19 buildings were damaged, including a public car and 18 vehicles. In total, 78 objects were damaged in the region, including 13 construction buildings, production premises, 4 private households, a greenhouse and 59 transport facilities. Today, two people were killed in the Sumy region due to Russian aggression. Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy OVA, reported about this. According to him, a Russian drone attacked a civilian car in Putyvelskaya Gromada.
49:09 40-year-old woman, who was standing next to him at that time, suffered a serious injury. It was not possible to save her. The enemy was intensively attacking the territory of the community. In the morning, due to enemy strikes, two local residents were also injured. A 59-year-old man died in the hospital, who suffered serious injuries on August 1 on his house in Krasnopilskyi Gromada. For five days, the doctors fought for his life, but the injuries turned out to be incompatible. Also today in Krasnopilskyi Gromada a woman who was riding a bicycle was injured. Previously, an explosion of an unknown object occurred. Probably, the enemy carried out a remote mining of the territory.
49:50 Anti-corruption agencies reported on the new suspicion of the former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Olziy Stefanishyn. This was reported by the Center for Anti-Corruption. Currently, the ex-consultants are choosing a preventive measure in the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court. The hearing is closed at the request of Stephanie's lawyers. She was fired from the position of consul in the United States during the days. At the beginning of July, the media wrote that she herself asked for the completion of the diplomatic service under personal circumstances. Once again, several publications with a reference to the source reported that the replacement of Stephanie in the position of the ambassador of Ukraine to the United States may be related to a criminal case. According to the BBC, the reason is the presence of a criminal case against the official, which is no longer known.
50:33 Journalist-investigator of Ukrainian Pravda Mykhailo Tkachy, with a reference to the sources in the political circles, writes that Stefaniyshyna was suspected of illegal embezzlement. I recall that earlier, Olga Stefaniyshyna was also suspected of corruption in the case of a tender for the procurement of services in the Ministry of the Interior in 2013. And Ukrainian Pravda wrote that the former man in the office is a shadow curator of the Arma office in informal conversations. Stephanie herself stated that her ex-husband is a special person, he has nothing to do with her activity or current life, and after investigating Ukrainian Pravda, she did not communicate with him.
51:11 Former high-ranking officials from Great Britain, France, Germany and Russia met in Vienna in July to discuss the conditions for peaceful negotiations on the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Bloomberg found out about this from its sources. Yes, in Vienna met the former Secretary of National Security of Great Britain Timothy Barrow, the former Secretary of State of Germany Marcos Ederer and French diplomat Pierre Vimont. The source of the publication refused to call the name of the representative of Russia who was at the meeting with the Europeans. Most of the former officials did not respond to Bloomberg's requests. The British government commented that they support efforts to ensure a just and strong peace for Ukraine, but do not comment on the actions of former officials. And in Germany, they said they do not know about the proposed negotiations. We remind you that recently, the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, stated that on July 12-14, a secret meeting of former officials of Russia and Germany took place in his country, which discussed the end of the war in Ukraine. These were the news on the Public Radio. Listen, think, act.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces. In addition to the military facility, transport bridges were damaged This led to a strong repression from the side of the occupiers. The locals were in distress due to mass checks and interruption of the connection. Due to the damage to the transport infrastructure in the area of Arbatska Strelka, the delivery of civilian medicines and products to the settlement has become complicated. The occupying troops block the movement of locals due to the so-called counter-diversion measures.
