0:41 The Real — Busty and the Bass

1:02 Nicely done.

1:03 Voce 4 Hot start.

1:04 Voce 6 That was electric.

1:07 Voce 4 Nothing better than some faulty equipment and everything being left turned down.

1:12 Voce 2 But you got hands, man. You were on the switches right then.

1:16 Voce 4 I do my humble best.

1:18 Voce 2 Just let us sit in it for a second.

1:31 Voce 4 Good. Good morning. Good morning, Al.

1:35 Voce 4 Good morning, everyone. You're listening to The Flipside on 97.1 3MDR. With us this morning, Captain Alex. Hey-o. He's the only one with access to the soundboard.

1:48 Voce 6 Just stuck looking at it.

1:50 Voce 4 Oh, man. How are you, mate?

1:53 Voce 2 Very good. It's good to be back. It's good to have you back. Good to be back in the studio. Cold this morning.

1:57 Voce 4 Freezing.

2:27 Voce 2 oh man so yeah chilly one this morning chilly one this morning uh but that being said it's getting brighter and brighter and brighter it is we're on the we're on the other side of that deep dark winter darkness so perfect we're gonna get there and it's hot hot hot in the studio yeah it's

2:44 Voce 4 electric uh if you would like to get a request on air please text in on zero four nine seven one zero

2:53 Otherwise, even though we had probably the longest pre-show time together, didn't queue up a single song. Nothing. We got nothing. I have a song that I found last night. I actually have a couple songs, but one of them I want to play later because we have the new single, first single in four years from the famous Bugs show favorites. I've released a new single last night called Tough Love. Huge, huge news So we have that on the show today And I also found a, some sort of like a, I don't even know how to explain it But it's got Nora Jones in it Okay, great And it's a bit like, I don't know, we were listening to it last night, it was a vibe So I've got that queued up ready to go And I guess we'll queue up some other tunes as well

3:43 Voce 2 Well it's nice, we've got the theme song, we're just chilling to this

3:45 Voce 4 It is, it's so good and there's still plenty more of the theme song to go

3:50 Voce 2 oh man good to hear from bugs yeah really good to hear from bugs yep uh i got a message from

3:55 Voce 4 connor last night and yeah it's it was let's you know how's everything i sent him one back and i was like hey mate i'm on a radio show now so i'm definitely giving this a spin for sure oh so good

4:08 Voce 2 i've got a bag of vinyl here but it's all stuff we've heard before we've played before and we'll hear and play again definitely there's nothing wrong with that we need a theme we We need a mood for today. We do.

4:18 Voce 4 I don't know what it is. That is a good idea. Like, favorite film soundtrack, I don't know. Actually, speaking of films, Al, you're a film connoisseur. Here we go. You're a film connoisseur. This music's my ears. Have you seen the latest Jurassic Park?

4:34 Voce 6 No. Okay.

4:35 Voce 4 No, I haven't. Okay, because I want to go out there and say, you know me, I don't usually slam things,

5:09 No, so I read up after we watched it. They're doing a soft reboot of the franchise and Scar Jo is the star. Oh. Yep. We like her. We do. She's fantastic. She's great in action films. Yeah. But I don't know what it was about this film. It didn't gel.

5:28 Voce 2 It's news to me that there even is a new Jurassic Park. When you say new, how new?

5:32 Voce 4 I think it came out earlier this year.

5:34 Voce 2 Oh, then I have been living under a rock. because this has gone so far below my radar.

5:40 Voce 4 It's called Jurassic Park Rebirth and it's got a bunch of great actors in it, but it didn't gel, in my opinion, not even slightly.

5:53 Voce 2 I will see you, Jurassic Park Rebirth, and raise you, as far as bad movies go, Mr. Right.

6:01 Voce 4 Mr. Right? Mr. Right. Okay, run us through Mr. Right.

6:05 Voce 2 Action comedy starring Anna Kendrick, Love, and Sam Rockwell, Love.

6:15 Voce 4 Okay, Sam Rockwell of?

6:18 Voce 2 Sam Rockwell of, originally, Charlie's Angels fame. Okay, right. The villain.

6:23 Voce 4 Yep, yep. Was it Tall Thin Guy or whatever it is? No, no, no.

6:27 Voce 2 I see. Okay. Not Crispin Glover. Ah. No, no. Also Moon Stand alone actor in Moon It's just him stranded on the moon Great movie Fabulous movie He's one of the police officers In Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Which I haven't seen But I did pick up from Savers For two bucks Perfect Looking forward to watching that Yeah He's great Anyway Mr. Right He's possibly two decades Older than Anna Kendrick No shade being thrown But they are a love interest and it just, it's a terrible matchup. Yeah. She is billed as the quirky sort of girl. Yeah. Who's just recently gone through a breakup and then is looking for Mr. Right. Ha, ha, ha, ha.

7:15 Voce 6 Ha, ha, ha, ha.

7:18 Voce 2 He is an assassin. Yeah. So highly trained, highly skilled, but he's become disillusioned with being an assassin. Okay, right. So, he now, every time someone hires him to kill someone, he murders them. Yeah. To, like, sort of balance the scales a little bit. Right, okay. He's like, you wanted someone dead. So, I'm going to get you. So, I'm going to kill you. Yeah. So, then she, for whatever reason, the writing and the editing, Anna Kendrick's character feels crazy the whole movie. Okay. She's just constantly going through these breakdowns and these weird manic scenes where she's, like, giggling and laughing at her own ridiculousness. Yeah. And all of her family and friends and loved ones are like, hey, you're going through a rough time. Maybe just be careful with the decisions that you're making. Okay. And she ignores all of that. Yeah. He is just living his best life. Killing would-be murderers. And they bump into each other in this weird meet-cute. Okay. And then the story unfolds from there. It is seriously bad Okay Seriously, seriously bad

8:22 Voce 4 As in don't watch bad?

8:23 Voce 2 Don't watch bad It doesn't make sense It's some of the worst directing and acting From some brilliant people that I've ever seen And the story's a nightmare

8:32 Voce 4 For those who can't put a face to the name He was the villain in Iron Man 2 Hammer

8:40 Voce 2 Thank you, yes Not Mickey Rourke's character With the electric lightning whips He's like the rival to Tony Stark

8:47 Voce 4 Yeah, the Tony Stark antithesis.

8:50 Voce 2 I cannot say this enough. I chose the movie on a date night with Vic and I, and I so wanted it to be good because I happen to love Sam Rockwell. Yeah.

9:00 Voce 4 And it fell apart around me. I feel like he plays a great bad guy.

9:03 Voce 2 He does a good villain. He dances quite a lot in all movies. Every film. In every single movie, he does a little boogie. Loves it. And if you haven't seen Moon, definitely, definitely worth checking out.

9:14 Voce 4 Okay, so that's one of the better ones.

9:16 Voce 2 That's definitely one of his better ones, yeah. Hey, if you haven't seen Iron Man 2, give it a watch.

9:21 Voce 4 It is a good, that's a good film. He's in that.

9:23 Voce 2 He's in that, doing good work.

9:25 Voce 4 But to put Jurassic Park in perspective for you, the director, I'm just trying to look it up now because I did a quick search on other films he had done. Yeah. Because I thought this is like-

9:39 Voce 2 You don't get a Jurassic Park without doing something. And that's what I mean.

9:42 Voce 4 And I was like, this can't be a standalone thing, right? So it's Gareth Edwards is the director, also known for, I'm just waiting for IMDb to load up, but I can remember one of the, no, sorry, two of the new Star Wars films, like in the latest trilogy. Godzilla, the latest Godzilla. That's huge. Hang on. Hopefully this page loads up soon.

10:04 Voce 2 Godzilla and Jurassic Park would lend themselves to each other. They're big CG lizards.

10:08 Voce 4 Yeah, like monster movies. like this guy directs big time monster movies okay i can't get it just keeps bringing up jurassic park rebirth but anyway doesn't matter the whole thing is that you you would think that with big titles like that under your belt surely jurassic park where the story is written for you what would be simple like it has everything it has a t-rex chase down it has a velociraptor in a tight light vicinity scene you know like we've got hide hide around a corner and there's snouts of velociraptors and and tension and claws on stuff like like every single one yeah you know rinse and repeat it's great time uh but i think yeah i like a lot of the jurassic park films mum's a huge fan of them but this is just like and mum's a big fan of the books as well like she's a she's a Michael Crichton. OG, yeah.

11:00 Voce 2 How many times can the park go wrong before we just go, this is a nightmare?

11:04 Voce 4 Well, this is the thing. It does change. The story does change. In the original ones, I think it's good because it's like the park goes wrong in the first one. We get it. Then it's like, I'm trying to remember, the second one is like there's people, they're on, what do you call it, where you get a parasailing, where you get dragged behind the boat and the thing, the rope snaps and the dad and his son land on the island. and it blows them on and then someone's got to go and save them. So you can still see how that works, right?

11:31 Voce 2 I get that. That's gant.

11:32 Voce 4 And the third one is like some baddies go to the island and steal a T-Rex and then they bring them back to the mainland. Okay, classic. And then there's like chase down through the mainland. So the original three, even though it's not, it's unique storylines, they make sense. Whereas all the ones that have come since seem to be, oh yeah but they were those guys that run the park now we're these guys and we're gonna we're

12:00 Voce 2 gonna run it properly dan we spent so long thinking about whether we could make a new jurassic park movie that we didn't stop to think about whether we should make a new jurassic

12:09 Voce 4 they are fun though they are quite and in the second chris pratt one there's a heartbreaking scene where they're like running away from a volcanic eruption on a boat and uh um i can't I can't remember what the actual name of it, but it's like a brachiosaurus, big long neck leaf eater, is trying to run down the dock and then it gets like engulfed in the smoke and it's just, oh, breaks my heart, breaks my heart.

12:34 Voce 2 If you've seen terrible movies recently that you want people to steer clear of, text in on 04971 02000. If there's a movie with a particularly good soundtrack, though, maybe we could let us know.

12:46 Voce 4 Well, can I play you the interesting Nora Jones track I found last night?

12:50 Voce 2 Chack us on a song, Dan. Okay, here we go. We're ready.

12:52 Angels — Wax Poetic

12:53 Voce 4 This is Angels from Wax Poetic and Norah Jones.

16:51 There we go. That was Wax Poetic with Nora Jones. Angels is the name of the track. What do you think, Al?

17:00 Voce 2 That was funky as all get it.

17:02 Voce 4 Yeah, something else, hey?

17:03 Voce 2 I quite liked the little flute beatboxing at the start. That was dope.

17:08 Voce 4 So I just put on, when Olive is being a pain, let's say, choice word, word yep uh i put on nora jones and uh yeah it seems to somewhat calm her down nora yeah and this just this just came on as well the savage beast correct oh she is a bit of a savage piece teenage phase oh jeepers in there can i read a couple messages please do may i just all right uh where do we start good morning boys could i please request betty's in the band by abigail Gail Rose, and Weston Hunter. New release yesterday. They had a bit, sorry, they had a bit that they teased that went viral on social media that has been a global earworm and I'm stoked that they have released a full version. Thank you, Gab. Cool. Jeez, I struggled to read that. Thanks, Gab. Appreciate it. And then shortly after that, Morning Boys hitting the massively potholed road into work now. Would love to hear an old favourite, REM, shiny happy people, Claire. Thank you, Claire. That is also queued up. And then finally, an unnamed legend has texted in, how about the soundtrack to Charlie's Angels 2? Just about any track is a classic. It is very good. It is very good. I had to Google it because it's been, believe it or not, Alex, it's been a while since I've watched Charlie's Angels 2.

18:32 Voce 2 For all of us. Correct.

18:34 Voce 4 Saturday night's all right for fighting, which is the Nickelback and Kid Rock cover. Is it really? Yeah. Yeah, Rebel Rebel, Danger High Voltage, which is one of your faves. The Electric Six. And Living on a Prayer, they're notable ones that jump out. Yeah. But hey, maybe we can get some Electric Six.

18:52 Voce 2 Very cool.

18:53 Voce 4 And what was that factoid we had a couple of weeks ago? The female's voice in that song is Jack White? Yes, it is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There you go. Just can't miss it everywhere.

19:04 Voce 2 With the glowing suits in the crazy Victorian house. they also are responsible for the absolute banger i think it's gay bar oh really um where the the the lead singer is abraham lincoln yeah in the white house working out but there's like multiple versions of him so it's just him in a top hat and a beard and a and speedos okay perfect it's great

19:25 Voce 4 perfect well maybe that's what we'll check on it's a hell of a dude we'll see i've got those lined up uh those requests and you've thrown on a cheeky bit of wax yeah i checked on uh sly and the

19:37 Voce 2 the family stone it's uh such a beautiful record because it's that transparent pink um it's it's sweet but it's a nightmare to line up the song oh for sure so i've done my humble best uh so we're either uh ready to rock on uh the start of a song or i've just dropped the needle halfway through

19:55 Voce 4 something oh we'll see but yeah we're on we're on fantastic we're there i've had a big um uh what do he say um actually type text from from brother tones oh damn may i just it's five lines long i just scanned it to see what it says poor thumbs must be uh very tight uh morning boys dan you're just a little off the first jurassic park happened on isla nuba nuba yeah nuba uh and we know how that happens the second and third movie happened on isla sauna which was abandoned after a hurricane Hurricane threatened all the dinos. Yeah. The second film was about Injun forcibly taking the island over via corporate takeover. That's where they bring the T-Rex onto the mainland. And the third one is The Rescue. So I had them the other way around.

20:47 Voce 2 Tony, I tried explaining this to him, but he wouldn't listen. Sorry.

20:51 Voce 4 And then he signs off with, sorry, sorry I nerded out. Can I please hear Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz?

20:58 Voce 2 If you get a nerd out, at least chuck a song in at the end. Perfect.

21:01 Voce 4 That is the perfect flip side text message.

21:06 Voce 2 Correct us and give us a song. And give us a song.

21:10 Voce 4 Man, Tones, thank you so much. That is going to be lined up shortly. Do you want to hear another tune? Yeah, really bad. Yeah, what do you want to hear? Do you want to see where you drop the needle?

21:22 Voce 6 Let's see.

21:23 Voce 2 Let's see. I think I've dropped it at If You Want Me To Stay. Okay. Which is one of my all-time favorites.

21:30 Voce 4 but i might not have well that's the fun of the show let's do it live let's let's run it run it run it i'm gonna back myself well it starts quiet so i think you've done well

21:48 Voce 2 oh no oh no no no it's all right i see corrected it's all right well done i absolutely smashed that i'm chuffed with that the bass let the bass line take you there just let it go let it go if you're listening at home you're welcome

24:30 Voce 4 I was not ready for that. We were having way too much fun. As always. Sorry about that. No stress.

24:41 Voce 2 Hey, but yeah, we got there.

24:43 Voce 4 You're listening to The Flipside, 97.13 MDR. Text in on 0497102000 if you have a suggestion, much like Gab, Claire, Tones, and someone suggesting the Charlie's Angels 2 soundtrack. Genius. Text in. Text in. Let us know.

25:01 Voce 2 I'm thinking about Claire driving over all these potholes.

25:04 Voce 4 Yeah, there's a lot of potholes on the way she drives to work. Potholes everywhere.

25:09 Voce 2 Yeah, but she's got that enormous, big, giant monster truck. Yeah. So she'll be all right. I've seen it. I think it's ridiculous for most roads, but on that road.

25:16 Voce 4 Takes up both lanes, but she'll get to work safely.

25:19 Voce 2 Yeah, but she leans on the horn so much, it's fine. You hear her coming. Yeah, no.

25:22 Voce 4 Jeez. Lots of potholes down that way in the southeast. Gab and I went that way Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. we were down in sandy point for our little getaway nice which was good um i would say it was great but again not to bring everything back to our lovely puppy but she did not enjoy being away from home uh really she was pretty good no the thing is and you know from having been down there so many times the beach ned neal's yes yes what a dog beach yeah i'll tell you what like she ran everyone ran oh man that was crazy she loved that part she didn't love the being in a car for two and a half hours yeah okay um and on as everyone i think in melbourne remembers on i think it was tuesday night this the rain that rolled through ah it was real bad down there it was heavy heavy heavy so she wasn't stoked at that um it meant that gab and i spent a lot of time also trying trying to stop her from chewing on anything. But, no, we had a good little time, played some board games, listened to some music. It was a good time.

26:29 Voce 2 Cleo loves it when we go down there because the caravan's two rooms, but barely. She's never more than two metres away from a pat or a snack. Perfect. So she loves it when we go down there. She can't understand when we come home and it's this big house that there's separate rooms with doors that close to keep her in and out. she she likes it she would happily just be down there yeah plus she always manages to squirm her way up onto the bed with us um there's no crate or cage that we take down there so she she never she never she doesn't understand why we don't live there all the time that's her favorite place she

27:05 Voce 4 she digs it oh man such a nice such a nice town but this time of year there was a morning where i took ollie for a walk and i didn't see a single person oh it's quiet yeah i was like wow are we We're the only people in Sandy Point. Sometimes that happens, yeah. But the big classic of it all was Olive ate a shell. She chewed on a shell and I went, oh, damn, holiday ruined. Turns out it was just a muscle shell, quite thin. And according to a lot of vet pages on Google that I quickly scanned, akin to an egg, just a bit of calcium carbonate. Great. you know probably not the best but will just dissolve in her stomach and i was like ah because i thought it was going to be a you know hour drive to the gippsland emergency vet

27:56 Voce 2 i think i think a certain amount of dog ownership is being amazed at what dogs can get away with eating surprised at stuff that they will choose to eat correct in it in full like surprised at stuff that they will bother to eat yeah but also pleasantly surprised at what they can get away

28:38 where the dog ends up okay. Yeah. But also, sometimes they really put themselves-

28:44 Voce 4 Eat some funny stuff. They eat some crazy stuff. Yeah. Like the snaps on the back of your cap. No. You know, like six weeks after you've gotten them. Damn. Yeah, damn. Anyway. Thanks for that, Ola. Don't leave your hat around, Dan. Well.

28:56 Voce 2 You fool. It's a tough lesson to learn.

28:58 Voce 4 Jeefers. We've got Betty's in the band and Shiny Happy People queued up. Yeah, hell yeah. And we also, I reckon, what do you reckon? Let's play Betty's in the band and then we'll jump to our messages. What do you think?

29:12 Voce 2 Let's do it. All right.

29:13 Voce 4 This is apparently the new global earworm, Betty's in the band. Abigail Rose. Y'all listening.

29:14 Betty's in the Band — Abigail Rose

32:37 Shiny Happy People — R.E.M.

36:54 Voce 1 So what is The Forge? It's a creative space made for young people. It's not school, it's not a class where you're told what to do. It's a place where you can try new things like art, photography, design, music or whatever you're into or try something new. You don't have to be good and and you don't have to be experienced. You just need to show up and learn from the artists who do this for a living and work alongside other people your age who understand how it all feels. The Forge isn't about being perfect. It's about making things, meeting people, and figuring out who you are while you do what you love.

39:20 Voce 2 Just commenting on just how weary I am this morning. We were both vacillating as to whether we pull the trigger on coffee number two. Yeah.

39:29 Voce 4 How can we do that, though? I suppose there's a machine here.

39:33 Voce 2 Oh, we can. Yeah, we can. We can sort it. We can make it happen. We can make it happen.

39:37 Voce 4 Between the two of us. Oh, we've had a text in. It's just come in. Yeah, great. Hang on. Let me jump on this. Oh, it's a biggie. Oh, it's because it's a story. It's a dog story.

39:50 Voce 2 Oh, good. Here it is. Welcome back. You're listening to Dog Chat with Alex and Dan.

39:55 Voce 4 From none other than the Cosmic Mast himself. Morning, Captains. Dog eating something weird story for you. Our beautiful dogs, Ishka and Finn, decided to eat rat poison late one night at the Powder Monkey's house. a quick late night visit to the emergency vet and they were given the all clear they told us to take them for blood tests two days later to make sure nothing got into their systems that happened to be the day of our wedding so 6 a.m on our wedding day i was at the vet with them the best part is they had their legs shaved for the tests which is the the first thing you notice when looking at wedding photos that they're in could i please request magic carpet ride by Steppenwolf perfect text

40:52 Voce 4 the original odd couple

40:54 Voce 2 the last thing you need on your wedding day

40:56 Voce 4 I think I would if I if I look at how I've reacted to Olive eating something so far if she got into rat poison I think I would lose my mind

41:06 Voce 2 Oh, you'd have to just both go to the emergency room. Correct.

41:08 Voce 4 I'd drop her off and then I'd continue on. I'd just ask the vet to have a look at you while you're there.

41:14 Voce 6 I'm an animal.

41:16 Voce 2 Yeah, you get it. Yeah, come on. It's all mammals and I'm stressed.

41:21 Voce 4 Oh, poor pups.

41:23 Voce 2 We had a friend who had a lovely Labrador and had taken a walk to a beach somewhere and had let the dog off lead and was hoovering around the sand dunes and having the best time, came upon the dog was out the back of the dune, so they thought they'd go and find them and went and found the dog eating something that had been hidden, buried away. Okay. Turns out it was someone's stash of... No. ...a substance that may or may not have been suitable for dogs and or humans. No. And this poor dog, they took him to the vet and they have never had a more stoned dog at the vets.

42:07 Voce 4 And they said, she'll be fine.

42:10 Voce 2 Probably going to be hungry when this wears off.

42:12 Voce 4 Get the munchies.

42:14 Voce 2 But just keep giving them water. And this poor dog was seeing colours and lights and shapes.

42:20 Voce 4 Seeing into the next dimension.

42:22 Voce 2 I saw photos of this. I saw pictures of this poor dog. You've never seen a more clearly drug-affected dog in your life. The look on its face was priceless. But, yeah, that was, yeah, all dogs and people were safe and sound at the end of that story.

42:37 Voce 4 Oh, that's hilarious. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Poor dogs. Well, yeah, Cosmic Mask, Magic Carpet Ride, Steppenwolf, great tune.

42:44 Voce 2 It's a tune, absolute tune.

42:46 Voce 4 Unfortunately, I can't think of it without thinking of Team America World Police. Yeah. But it is a great song and we'll definitely queue that up.

42:56 Voce 2 I started watching with Vic a couple of weeks ago just to be like, Like, we've got to check this out. And she was not impressed. But I thought the start of the movie, it opens on... Yeah, Paris. Well, it opens on a puppeteer with a marionette who is itself being puppeted. I thought it was brilliant. It is.

43:17 Voce 6 And yet...

43:18 Voce 4 Classic cinema. Yeah. Oh, man. Anyway. Anyway, do we want to jump to a song? I think we should. Okay.

43:24 Voce 2 We've got a number backing up and I'm so excited to hear Bugs. Okay.

43:27 Voce 4 Okay, do we want to do Bugs now?

43:30 Voce 2 No, we don't have to do it now, but I'm just saying. You're just saying you're going to get to it at some point.

43:34 Voce 4 I guess this is showbiz, you know. You're dangling the carrot for later. You're teasing me, man. Sorry, I'm sorry. Let's get into, how about Fly Away, Lenny Kravitz, and then your own request, bit of Danger High Voltage. Yeah. And for the mysterious person that texts in with the Charlie's Angels soundtrack.

43:51 Voce 2 We're going Charlie's Angels full throttle today. Let's do it.

43:54 Voce 4 Okay, this is little-known artist Lenny Kravitz.

43:57 Voce 2 he's gonna make it one day

47:33 Danger! High Voltage! — Electric Six

51:31 Voce 4 Apologies for missing the language warning. I didn't think it was going to be the live version. Ah, yes.

51:37 Voce 2 But hey, it's good fun either way.

51:40 Voce 4 It's just, you know, it doesn't quite hit the same. A lot of, I find, I don't know about you, I find I reckon 95% of the live versions of songs I listen to, they're not the same. I'm going to have to disagree with you there, Dan.

51:52 Voce 2 Really? I quite like a live version of stuff. Yeah? Okay. I don't know. You're not alone. You are not alone. alone i i have had this conversation with many folk who go oh the live version yuck i think there

52:03 Voce 4 are a lot of good live versions out there don't get me wrong but i think i think with with recording in studios because i i actually prefer live music yes when i'm there when you're there but recording in studio obviously you get to go over and over and over to make it great with a live recording if there's something that's just not right yeah you don't like it's hard to capture the magic to to begin with, through just microphones. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then you go, okay, something's, you know, this mic wasn't quite positioned properly and now we can't go back and fix it because it's still live. Anyway. I get that. Go on and on and on. But that's my little take. It was still great. Don't get me wrong.

52:44 Voce 2 Fire in the disco, fire in the Taco Bell.

52:47 Voce 4 Big deals right there.

52:48 Voce 2 Love that song so much.

52:53 Voce 4 It's 752. Man, flown by.

52:58 It's a great time in here. It's nice and warm with all these hot, hot tunes. In reality, it's bloody cold. If you want to get a tune of your own, text in on 0497102000. There's still an hour or so left of the show. Al, do you want to hear the new Bug song? So bad. Okay. Really bad. Rightio. Okay, let's give it a spin. debuted last night.

53:29 Voce 2 I'm not the only one who's excited.

53:31 Voce 4 We're all excited. All 50 people crammed into this tiny studio. But this is Show Favourites Bugs with their first track back in four years. It's called Tough Love. Enjoy. Play it, Dana.

57:07 Tough Love, Bugs. Oh, we don't need Lenny Kravitz again. You wait your turn, Lenny. That was great. Yeah, it's a good tune, hey? Tough Love. Tough Love. It's a good one.

57:19 Voce 2 Good on him, Bugs.

57:20 Voce 4 Good to see him back.

57:21 Voce 2 Wherever you are, Bugs, we love you.

57:24 Voce 4 After the, I think the hiatus was so that their bass player could get better, got diagnosed with cancer, and hopefully is doing well.

57:36 Voce 2 Yeah, really tough time for the band.

57:38 Voce 4 But great to see them back on the horse. Groovy tunes. Doing their thing. Before we cut to the ads, we have had a message. Yeah. If I may. Please. Captains. That's a hot start. Captains, can I please request Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine for the Cosmic Master M. I pinky promise that my rat bait days are long gone, although it does kind of suit my role on the good ship flip side from the Powder Monkey. definitely absolutely definitely also big shout out to uh cosmic mast and m heading over to europe next week so safe flight next week safe travels they're flying off soon very exciting uh so

58:20 Voce 2 definitely safe travels and the flight be turbulent turbulence and baby free perfect

58:26 Voce 4 perfect i thought you were gonna just hate on them maybe let's make the flight be rough

58:30 Voce 2 No, don't imagine that.

58:31 Voce 4 Enjoy the sun. Enjoy the European sun. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

58:34 Voce 2 Lovely.

58:35 Voce 4 We'll queue up Cosmic Love for sure coming up after 8. I think I'm going to throw to Magic Carpet Ride and then we'll go into the ads. What do you reckon?

58:44 Voce 2 So good. So good. I love this song so much. It has a weirdly long, quirky intro, but once it just launches into the rest of the track, Steppenwolf, they bring the heat.

58:55 Voce 4 The magic of radio is that we've already lost 20 seconds of the long, quirky intro. this is magic carpet ride steppenwolf you're listening to the flip side
