WBZE is a licensed FM radio station broadcasting at 98.9 MHz in the Tallahassee, Florida market. The station has operated as an adult contemporary format outlet since 1983, making it one of the longer-running format-consistent stations in the region. Prior to that format transition, it carried a Top 40 programming schedule. The station holds the distinction of being the first FM station to sign on the air in Tallahassee, having launched on July 15, 1962. It is owned by Cumulus Licensing, LLC, which also operates sister stations WHBX and WWLD in the same market. WBZE has historically ranked as the third-highest-rated station in the Tallahassee market according to industry tracking, following only its two sister stations. Studios are located on the west side of Tallahassee, with the transmission facility situated north of downtown along Interstate 10. In 2020, the station expanded its programming by adding Delilah, a nationally syndicated evening program, to its weekly schedule. The adult contemporary format emphasizes current and recurrent popular music with a broad mainstream appeal, serving a general adult audience across the Tallahassee metro area.
