A commercial hot adult contemporary radio station branded as Mix 102.7, licensed to Sandusky, Ohio, and serving the state's Vacationland region encompassing Sandusky, Port Clinton, and the Lake Erie Islands. Owned by BAS Broadcasting of nearby Fremont, Ohio, the station is available both over the air and online. The outlet traces its origins to August 15, 1959, when it launched as WLEC-FM, the FM counterpart to AM station WLEC, under the Cleveland Broadcasting Company, which was associated with former Cleveland Mayor Ray T. Miller. After Miller's death in 1966, Atlantic States Industries acquired Cleveland Broadcasting for a combined $9 million in May 1968, but Federal Communications Commission rules required divestiture of affiliated stations. Following a series of ownership transactions, Richard H. Miller of Lake Erie Broadcasting purchased both WLEC and WLEC-FM outright in August 1971 under the Miller Broadcasting name. The station adopted its current call letters on May 19, 1980, operating an Album Oriented Rock format during the early and mid-1980s. Miller Broadcasting sold in 1986, and subsequent ownership changes over the following decades brought format adjustments that ultimately resulted in the current hot adult contemporary presentation.
