A non-commercial college radio station licensed to Raleigh, North Carolina, operated by students at North Carolina State University as part of the Department of Student Media. Broadcasting at an effective radiated power of 25,000 watts on 88.1 FM, the signal covers much of the Research Triangle and surrounding areas. All roles, from disc jockey to general manager, are held by students. The station's primary daytime format centers on indie rock, with evenings and weekends given over to specialty programming spanning an unusually broad range of genres. These include electronic music, hip-hop, heavy metal, jazz, soul and R&B, punk, post-rock, classical, ska, Americana, K-pop, and world music, among others. A second HD digital subchannel, HD-2, carries a parallel block-programmed schedule. A recurring local music segment, the "Local Lunch," highlights North Carolina artists exclusively. The station produces a weekly public affairs program, "Eye on the Triangle," covering current events and culture in the Research Triangle region. It also broadcasts NC State Wolfpack women's basketball and baseball through a Learfield IMG College arrangement. An annual benefit concert, the Double Barrel Benefit, has been held since 2004. Interviews and public affairs content are available as audio podcasts through major streaming platforms.
