The station is owned by Leighton Moore, who also founded Seacrets in 1988, and is managed by David "Bulldog" Rothner, host of its long-running morning program. WOCM holds a notable place in internet radio history as one of the first independent stations in the United States to broadcast a live video stream of its on-air talent and visiting performers directly from its website. The station originally signed on at 97.9 FM under the call letters WSBL from Selbyville, Delaware, with a country music format before transitioning to its current identity.
