Connecticut College itself is a private liberal arts institution founded in 1911, originally as a women's college and coeducational since 1969, with an enrollment of approximately 1,900 undergraduates. The station recently underwent a period of reduced power following tower work and has been in the process of restoring full-power broadcast capability from a new tower location on campus.
