PRE Classical

A public radio station in eastern North Carolina offering classical music programming, with content drawn from the Classical 24 syndicated service. Classical 24, co-developed by Minnesota Public Radio and Public Radio International and now distributed by Public Radio Exchange, provides round-the-clock classical music formatted according to a structured hourly clock: brief selections open each hour, followed by a substantial orchestral or chamber work such as a symphony or concerto, then shorter pieces to close. Live hosts guide listeners through the programming without identifying the syndication source, creating a locally oriented listening experience. The station's news coverage reflects its public radio affiliation, with the website carrying stories on regional topics including weather emergencies, public safety, and local government, alongside national public radio content. Its service area spans coastal and inland North Carolina communities.
