WMFO 91.5 FM

WMFO 91.5 FM is Tufts University’s student and community operated freeform station, broadcasting from Curtis Hall on the Medford/Somerville campus with Medford, Massachusetts, as its FCC city of license. Its programming is in English and includes pop, rock, classical, hip-hop, talk, and live bands under a freeform approach shaped by student and community DJs. The station grew from earlier Tufts radio efforts, with WMFO taking over Curtis Hall operations in 1971 and moving onto 91.5 FM later that year. It expanded to 24-hour programming in 1974, resumed operations six hours after a 1977 studio fire, and was approved to operate at 125 watts in 1982. WMFO also streams through its official website.
