A commercial radio station licensed to Fort Wayne, Indiana, operating on 97.3 FM with a hot adult contemporary format and currently owned by Federated Media. The WMEE call letters originated in 1971 at 1380 kHz on the AM dial, where the station programmed Top 40 music, before transferring to 97.3 FM in 1979. The FM frequency had previously operated as WMEF and, before that, as WKJG-FM with a beautiful music format. Over the decades the station carried numerous on-air identities including "The New Magic 97 FM," "Power 97 FM," and "Mix 97 FM" before settling on the current branding of "97.3 WMEE." The station is equipped for HD Radio transmission. The HD1 signal simulcasts the main analog broadcast, while the HD2 subchannel simulcasts News Talk WOWO, a separate Fort Wayne station. Throughout its history the station has been associated with a substantial roster of on-air personalities. Notable alumni include nationally syndicated figures Casey Kasem and Shadoe Stevens, alongside a long succession of local personalities who worked at both the AM and FM operations across multiple decades.
