Washington Radio and Gramophone LLC and carries programming from AP Radio. The station also organizes an annual Song of the Year Contest open to local musicians, with entries judged by a panel and then put to a public vote, culminating in a live on-air performance and a cash prize for the winning song. The contest is held in partnership with a regional beverage distributor. The station signed on June 23, 1967 under the call letters WBNC-FM. The call sign changed to WMWV on November 2, 1979, the identifier it has carried since.
