A student-run college radio station owned and operated by Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, broadcasting on 97.5 MHz FM. The station traces its origins to 1948, when it launched as a carrier current AM outlet under the callsign WOBC. It transitioned to the FM band in 1958 at 91.5 FM, began stereo broadcasts in 1977, and subsequently moved through several frequencies — 105.7 MHz in 1983, 101.5 MHz in 1990, and its current 97.5 MHz position in November 2008. The shift away from 105.7 MHz occurred after the FCC required the university to relinquish that commercial-band frequency to accommodate a new commercial station in Marysville. Programming reflects the station's educational mission and changes regularly as students rotate through roles. Alongside formatted music blocks — primarily alternative — the schedule includes specialty shows such as the morning program Money's Morning Show, The Frontier, and The Roundup. WOBN also serves as the broadcast voice for Otterbein University athletics, covering football, basketball, baseball, and other Westerville-area sports. The station's studios are located at 33 Collegeview Road, with the transmitter tower on Cowan Hall on the Otterbein campus.
