The station occupies a distinctive geographic position as the only station directly serving the county, reaching audiences in the corridor between Rochester and Buffalo. It is owned by James Ernst through licensee Majic Tones Communications, LLC. WBTA previously carried ABC Music Radio's nationally syndicated "Timeless" format and its predecessor "Unforgettable Favorites" before transitioning in February 2010 to a locally programmed format. The station provides local news coverage, school closing information, obituaries, sports including Section V rankings and Buffalo Sabres coverage, and community event listings. Wayne Fuller served as a longtime on-air personality from 1967 until shortly before his death in 2018, and morning host Jerry Warner passed away later the same year.
