A public radio station owned by Arizona Western College and licensed to Yuma, Arizona, broadcasting on 1320 AM. The frequency originated as the commercial KBLU on September 6, 1959. Following a corporate merger between Eller Telecasting and Combined Communications in 1969, the station was donated to Arizona Western College, and on January 1, 1970, the call letters changed to KAWC and the format transitioned to public radio, signing on in its new form on July 11, 1970. The station adopted the current KOFA call sign in July 2017. Programming draws from National Public Radio, Public Radio International, and the BBC World Service, encompassing a wide variety of music alongside news and talk content. A 2009 agreement extended coverage into northwestern and northern Arizona through a network of K-Jazz Radio transmitters that simulcast the station on weekdays.
