KBMW is a commercial AM radio station broadcasting at 1450 kHz, licensed to Breckenridge, Minnesota, and serving the Wahpeton–Breckenridge metro area along the North Dakota–Minnesota border. The station is owned by I3G Media, LLC, a company controlled by Robert Ingstad. Its programming blends country music and news with locally produced segments including a community calendar, funeral notices, and the Swap Shop program. The station also carries Minnesota Twins baseball coverage and updates from the American Ag Network, supplemented by syndicated content in evening hours. The station first signed on the air in August 1948. Its callsign is widely understood to derive from the initials of its two primary service communities: Breckenridge, Minnesota, and Wahpeton, North Dakota. The station passed through several ownership groups over the following decades. W-B Broadcasting acquired it in March 2003 for $1.2 million; Triad Broadcasting subsequently sold the station to L&L Broadcasting in 2012 as part of a $21 million multi-station transaction. Jim Ingstad then acquired KBMW as part of the Fargo cluster for $9.5 million. His daughter Brooke Ingstad assumed ownership in June 2016 for $300,000 before selling to cousin Robert Ingstad's I3G Media in December 2017 for $925,000, the current ownership arrangement.
