About KFUO 850 AM
KFUO 850 AM streams live from St. Louis MO, United States, on Tuninga Radio.
This radio station offers diverse programming.
An AM radio station licensed to Clayton, Missouri, and serving the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area. Owned and operated by The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), it holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating Christian radio station in the United States, with its inaugural broadcast on October 26, 1924. Studios and administrative offices are located at the LCMS headquarters in Kirkwood, Missouri, while the transmitter operates from the grounds of Concordia Seminary in Clayton. The station is a daytimer, transmitting at 5,000 watts with a non-directional antenna, and must sign off at sunset due to frequency-sharing obligations with Class A station KOA in Denver. On-air hours therefore vary by season, ranging between approximately 80 and 102 hours per week. Three FM translators at 92.7, 104.5, and 105.3 MHz extend the signal and carry a continuous sacred music stream when the AM transmitter is off the air. Programming centers on Lutheran theology and Christian living, featuring long-running programs such as Thy Strong Word, Law and Gospel, Issues Etc., The Coffee Hour, and Midday Moments. Several hours daily are devoted to Lutheran sacred music. Weekend programming includes four live Lutheran church services broadcast on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. The station accepts pledges from individuals, congregations, and organizations and retains its non-commercial status, receiving operational subsidies from the LCMS. It also utilizes HD Radio technology.
