Broadcasting at 93.7 MHz on the FM dial, this commercial radio station serves communities along the US-395 corridor, reaching listeners from the High Desert through the Eastern Sierras, Owen's Valley, and Antelope Valley. Owned by KZFX, LLC, it operates a classic rock format under the brand "The Super Rock." The station first signed on in July 2012 under the call sign KKYT with a country music format branded "The Coyote." On September 25, 2013, the format shifted to classic rock, and on November 16, 2013, the call letters were changed to KZFX — a designation previously used from 1986 to 1994 by a Houston, Texas station known as Z107. Among its early technical milestones, the station was the first in the High Desert to stream its primary signal online using Winamp, beginning in the fall of 2012. That same year it launched a sub-oldies format on its SCA subcarrier, available via SCA receivers to select local businesses. In 2013 the station began HD Radio test broadcasts and moved its oldies format to an HD channel, adding a classic country HD channel as well. By 2014, HD broadcasting was discontinued due to the limited availability of HD receivers and technical reception challenges inherent to the HD standard. Two additional online-only format streams were subsequently introduced, bringing the total number of programming streams to five. Programming includes live local, regional, and national news, live weather, and NASCAR coverage. Specialty programs include Spaced Out Radio with Dave Scott, Breakfast with the Beatles, and Floydian Slip. According to SoundStack data from spring 2023, the station maintains a daily average time spent listening of just under two hours, with an average of approximately 1,660 active sessions per hour. It is available across all major online streaming platforms in addition to its own website.
