The station is owned by Christopher Miller through licensee KMET, LLC, and broadcasts a talk radio format. It holds an affiliation with ABC Radio and carries syndicated programming from hosts including Clark Howard, Dave Ramsey, Tyler Jorgenson, and Kevin McCullough. Local on-air contributors include Brett Malak, Aaron Michael Sanchez, Paul Amadeus Lane, and Mitch McClellan. Sports programming features coverage of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Lakers. The station previously served as the Inland Empire radio affiliate for the Los Angeles Kings from 2011 through the end of the 2016–2017 NHL season. The station was first licensed in 1981 under the call letters KGUD, replacing KPAS, which had operated from 1948 to 1972. On March 1, 1987, the station adopted the KMET call letters in reference to the Riverside–San Bernardino metro and nearby Hemet. It launched with a middle of the road format branded "The Mighty Met," a nod to the former Los Angeles rock station that previously held the KMET designation at 94.7 FM. The station subsequently carried a country music format in 1995, an all-sports format, and then a smooth jazz format branded "Your Smooth Oasis" before converting to its current talk radio programming in 2007.
