About WEEU 830 AM

WEEU 830 AM streams live from Reading PA, United States, on Tuninga Radio.

This radio station offers diverse programming.

A commercial AM talk radio station operating on 830 kHz in Reading, Pennsylvania, owned by The Treese Media Group, LLC, led by John and Kristine Treese, with studios and offices on North Fourth Street. The station operates at 20,000 watts during daytime hours. Because 830 kHz is a clear channel frequency designated for Class A station WCCO in Minneapolis, WEEU must reduce power to 6,000 watts after sunset to prevent interference, using a six-tower directional array that shifts signal orientation between day and night operations. The transmitter is located in Shartlesville, near Interstate 78; during the day the signal targets northwest and southeast corridors, while at night it is redirected toward the southeast and away from Minneapolis. WEEU signed on January 4, 1932, making it one of the older radio properties in the Pennsylvania market. It was originally owned by Berks Broadcasting and initially operated as a daytime-only station at 1,000 watts. A frequency change to 850 kHz occurred in 1941 under the North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement, before the station returned to 830 kHz in 1999 with expanded power. Beginning in the 1940s the station affiliated with the ABC Radio Network, later switching to Townhall Radio News in the 2020s. WEEU was formerly co-owned with the Reading Eagle daily newspaper until the newspaper's bankruptcy and asset sale in May 2019.
