About WPVW 99.7 FM
WPVW 99.7 FM streams live from Plainview MN, United States, on Tuninga Radio.
This radio station offers diverse programming.
WPVW operates at 1190 AM and is licensed to Wabasha, Minnesota. The station is owned by Q Media Group, LLC and airs a classic country format. Its origins date to January 12, 1974, when a construction permit was first granted under the call sign KWMB. The station signed on April 6, 1976, under licensee Obed S. Borgen with Russ Chesney as general manager, launching with a country music and farm information format. For much of its early history, the station carried the slogan "The Voice in the Valley." The station changed hands several times over the following decades. In November 1985, it was sold to Interstate Communications under John Meisch, Jr. In June 1990, Radio Ingstad Minnesota acquired the station along with a construction permit for sister FM station KMFX-FM for $275,000. Radio Ingstad subsequently relocated the FM permit from Wabasha to Lake City, allowing it to serve the broader Rochester market. In 1994, KWMB adopted the KMFX-FM call letters and began simulcasting that station's programming for the majority of its broadcast day. The station eventually adopted the WPVW call sign. Current programming reflects its longstanding community-service orientation, featuring local news coverage, high school sports, and interactive programming including a regular segment with local officials. The station operates as a multi-platform outlet with podcast and app-based listening options alongside its AM broadcast.
