WQED-FM 89.3

A non-commercial public radio station broadcasting classical music since 1973, operated by WQED Multimedia in partnership with the Pittsburgh area's PBS member television station. The station maintains a full-time classical format with specialized programming featuring local and national concert performances and artists. Broadcasting from a shared tower on the University of Pittsburgh campus, the station annually produces a 26-week series of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra broadcasts distributed nationally through public radio networks. The station implements HD Radio technology with an HD2 subchannel featuring archived concert performances and serves as a Local Primary Emergency Alert System Station for the extended regional area. Its programming encompasses orchestral performances, chamber music, opera, and interviews with visiting and resident musicians and conductors.
