This radio station offers diverse programming.
A Low Power FM radio station founded to serve Indigenous migrant communities, with roots in a 2013 initiative proposed by Hugo Morales, director of California's Spanish-language public broadcaster Radio Bilingüe. The project developed from extensive consultations with Indigenous community members and drew overwhelming grassroots support. The FCC granted a Low Power FM broadcast permit in 2014, and the station launched online streaming in 2015 before going live on the FM dial. Over 200 Indigenous migrants — primarily strawberry farmworkers — played a central role in establishing the station. More than 40 community leaders completed a 20-hour DJ training program in the inaugural year, building local broadcast capacity. Funding for the station's launch was raised through a series of family-oriented dance events, each drawing approximately 500 attendees, and an Indigenous Radio Advisory Board coordinated more than $40,000 in startup contributions. The station operates as part of MICOP, the Mixtec Indígena Community Organizing Project, and provides programming in Indigenous languages to a population that is often underserved by mainstream Spanish-language media.
