This radio station offers diverse programming.

A non-commercial public radio station licensed to Norman, Oklahoma, and serving the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, KGOU operates at 106.3 MHz with an effective radiated power of 6,000 watts. Owned by the University of Oklahoma and operated under the auspices of OU's College of Continuing Education (OU Outreach), the station holds its license through the university's Board of Regents. Studios are situated in Copeland Hall on Van Vleet Oval on the OU campus, and the staff includes ten full-time and four part-time employees. KGOU signed on the air on September 25, 1970, originally as a commercial station carrying a progressive rock format affiliated with the ABC FM Radio Network. Following a strategic shift in the early 1980s, the University of Oklahoma applied to the FCC to convert KGOU to a non-commercial public radio station. The transition to a news and talk format took effect on New Year's Day, 1983, with studios initially in Kaufman Hall. The station's signal is extended across Oklahoma through four full-power satellite stations: KROU (105.7 FM) in Spencer, KWOU (88.1 FM) in Woodward, KOUA (91.9 FM) in Ada, and KQOU (89.1 FM) in Clinton. Additional FM translators serve communities including Seminole, Ada, Chickasha, and Shawnee. As a full member of National Public Radio, KGOU distributes NPR content alongside locally produced programming covering Oklahoma politics, energy policy, education, and health issues through partnerships with StateImpact Oklahoma.
