This radio station offers diverse programming.
A contemporary hit radio station licensed to Washington, North Carolina, broadcasting at 93.3 FM and targeting Eastern North Carolina including the Greenville market. It operates under the "Bob 93-3" brand. The station's history extends to the era of WITN-FM, when it functioned as a Top 40 outlet in the late 1970s known as Rock 93, using TM's automated "Stereo Rock" format. It was owned by William Riley "Bill" Roberson Jr. alongside AM sister station WITN (930 AM) as part of the Tar Heel Broadcasting System. Roberson also controlled WITN-TV (channel 7), a Dr. Pepper bottling plant, and Washington Square Mall. Around 1984 Roberson began divesting, passing management of the radio stations to his son-in-law, Charles Zoph Potts, and William Riley Roberson III. The FM station moved to live programming in 1985 under the 93DLX moniker and then to soft adult contemporary in 1991. On February 19, 1996, the call letters became WERO and the format became Classic Hits as Arrow 93.3. That same year Potts and Roberson sold to Pinnacle Broadcasting, which became NextMedia Group in 1999. By 1998 the Arrow branding was dropped and the station mixed 1980s and 1990s music with adult album alternative tendencies. In 1999 it adopted the Bob 93.3 identity and returned to Top 40. In 2004, NextMedia consolidated its radio operations to a central facility in New Bern, ending the station's long presence in a building south of Washington where it had broadcast since the 1950s. In 2010, WERO operated at reduced power while replacing a 30-year-old antenna, a change intended to extend signal range.
