A student-run radio station affiliated with the University of Maine at Machias, operating with an eclectic format that draws from folk, electronica, classic rock, jazz, and numerous other genres. The station's founding mission is to serve the musical interests of students by providing a platform for DJs to broadcast their own programming and host talk shows, while also promoting campus and community organizations and events. The station was established in spring 1997 with a transmitter power of one watt, giving it a listening radius of approximately one mile from the campus. It was initially housed in Kimball Hall. Internet streaming was introduced in 2001, extending the potential audience to anyone with an online connection regardless of geography. In December 2008, the Federal Communications Commission approved an increase to 100 watts, expanding terrestrial coverage to roughly a ten-mile radius around campus. In early 2015, the station relocated to Torrey Hall following the closure of Kimball Hall.
