First licensed and on the air in 1957, the station celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007. It maintains a small but dedicated following among music fans across the broader Los Angeles metropolitan area. The station's programming covers a broad musical spectrum including rock, alternative music, specialty genres, fine arts, and Latin jazz. Weekday daytime programming from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m. is primarily hosted by college students. Specialty shows include "Stray Pop," "Music For Nimrods," "She Rocks," "In a Dream," "The Bomb Shelter," "Livation," "The Molotov Cocktail Hour," "The Windmills of Your Mind," "Neuz Pollution," "A Fistful Of Vinyl," and "Center Stage," among others.
