It carries syndicated programming from Fox News Radio and Fox Sports Radio, and airs AT40 with Ryan Seacrest on Saturday afternoons and The Jim Brickman Show on Sunday mornings. The station first signed on the air on October 29, 1967, as WMTL-FM, initially functioning as a full-time FM repeater of its AM sister station WMTL. In 1978, the station became an independent entity and adopted its current callsign WKHG, named in honor of Judge Kenneth H. Goff, who served as president of Rough River Broadcasting at the time. The station simultaneously launched its hot adult contemporary programming. Heritage Media of Kentucky acquired both WKHG and WMTL in 1994. Beyond its music format, WKHG serves as a primary broadcast outlet for Grayson County High School athletics, carrying football, boys' basketball, and girls' basketball games. The station also carries Kentucky Wildcats football and men's basketball from the UK Sports Network. From 1999 to 2012, the station was an affiliate of the Tennessee Titans Radio Network, broadcasting NFL games.
