Aircheck Radio

This online museum is dedicated to preserving unscoped radio airchecks, offering an unedited listening experience as it was originally broadcast. The collection focuses on capturing the full essence of radio from the past, including the voices of legendary DJs, music, jingles, commercials, and station promotions. The programming aims to transport listeners back to the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, a period characterized by competitive radio broadcasting and prominent personalities. The organization operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, relying on listener contributions and corporate partnerships to maintain and expand its repository of audio history. Specific featured airchecks include those of DJs such as Chris Davis, Steve Dahl (known for his rebellious edge and humor on WLUP Chicago), Tom Richards, Bob Seaver (popular in Peoria), Dennis Clark, and Bill McHenry (from KBOX Dallas). The platform allows for the uploading of unscoped airchecks and provides a popup player for immediate listening. Support is crucial for expanding the collection, improving search and curation, and covering costs for transcription, editing, and file maintenance.
