WRHU 88.7 FM Radio Hofstra University

A college radio station broadcasting at 88.7 FM and operated by Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. The station functions primarily as a professional broadcast training facility for Hofstra students, with over three hundred students participating in live on-air operations each academic cycle. Students gain hands-on experience with industry-standard broadcast technology, including systems from RCS, Wheatstone, Comrex, and Telos, within multimedia studios housed at the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication. The station maintains one of the largest student radio news operations on Long Island, with more than seventy-five student journalists involved in researching, writing, producing, and broadcasting news content. Programming spans news, sports, and music formats, providing a multi-platform training environment that extends beyond traditional terrestrial radio to include social media and digital content production.
