KYCS FM 95.1

KYCS (95.1 FM) is a hot adult contemporary radio station that has been broadcasting since 1986, making it one of the longer-running FM outlets in its market. It launched as a sister station to an already-established local frequency and remains under the ownership of Wagonwheel Communications Corporation, operating as part of The Radio Network group, the largest multi-media company in southwest Wyoming. The station's music programming is primarily satellite-fed through a network branded as Today's Best Hits, which is affiliated with Cumulus Media, formerly ABC Radio Networks. The network supplies a rotation of contemporary popular music alongside syndicated daytime disc jockeys and a morning show format. Beyond music, KYCS maintains a local community presence by broadcasting school closure announcements during weather events and covering locally organized civic activities such as an annual high school blood drive. In July 2023, The Radio Network expanded its media reach by acquiring the digital news publisher SweetwaterNOW, integrating radio operations with local digital journalism coverage in southwest Wyoming. The station's transmitter sits atop Wilkins Peak at an elevation of 7,638 feet (2,328 m) above sea level, just outside Rock Springs. Its 11,500-watt signal provides coverage across a broad geographic area, reaching portions of northern Utah to the south, approaching Evanston to the west, offering fringe reception as far east as Rawlins, and extending northward toward the Wind River mountain range.
