The station carries a classic rock format and serves as an affiliate of the Cowboy Sports Network, broadcasting University of Wyoming athletics. Its construction permit was originally issued by the Federal Communications Commission on April 1, 2005, under the initial call letters KSNA, held by College Creek Media. The call sign was reassigned in 2006 while the station was still under construction, and regular broadcasts commenced on April 3, 2008. The original format was religious programming under College Creek Media's ownership; the station was sold in 2010 to Frandsen Media Company, which transitioned it to classic rock. The station experienced a period of silence beginning in April 2008 due to financial difficulties, during which it sought and received FCC special temporary authority to remain off the air. It resumed broadcasting briefly in March 2009 before falling silent again, with operational status subsequently stabilizing under new ownership. The transmitter is located on Medicine Butte, northeast of Evanston.
