Owned by Southern Stone Communications, the station broadcasts with an effective radiated power of 48,000 watts. The radio studios and offices are located on LPGA Boulevard in Daytona Beach, with the transmitter positioned off Wesley Street. The station acquired call letters in 1996 from Root Communications, converting from the previous WTSM format. It broadcasts a mix of classic rock from the 1970s and 1980s along with 1990s and early 2000s rock. WHOG-FM broadcasts using HD Radio technology, with its digital subchannel WHOG-FM-HD2 providing urban contemporary music known as "Hot 94.1 Daytona". In late 2008, the station dropped its "Classic Rock" designation and began classifying itself as simply "Rock Radio". Ownership transferred to Southern Stone Communications in January 2013.
