A non-commercial educational radio station licensed to Lorain, Ohio, broadcasting at 104.9 FM and operating as a repeater of Kent-licensed WKSU under the ownership of Ideastream Public Media. The station serves the western portion of Greater Cleveland and parts of surrounding Northeast Ohio, with studios at Playhouse Square in Downtown Cleveland and a transmitter in the Cleveland suburb of Avon. Alongside its standard analog signal, the station provides four HD Radio subchannels and streams online. The frequency has an extensive history spanning multiple ownership changes and format shifts. It originated in 1975 as WZLE with a full-service local news and easy listening format before transitioning to Christian radio in 1983 following acquisition by a local non-profit. By the early 1990s the programming had shifted to contemporary Christian music. Jacor's 1998 purchase brought a contemporary hit radio format as KISS 104.9, and a complex seven-station asset swap on July 3, 2001, involving Clear Channel, Salem Communications and Radio Seaway, converted the frequency to classical music as WCLV. Donated to Ideastream and converted to non-commercial status in 2013, classical programming moved to 90.3 FM on March 28, 2022, with this frequency then taking the WCPN call letters as a full-power satellite of WKSU.
