A public radio station at 90.7 FM that operates as part of the Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) radio network, carrying the statewide GPB feed while also producing a limited volume of its own local programming. The majority of the broadcast day consists of a simulcast of the statewide feed, which includes NPR programming such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered. The signal reaches Carroll County and surrounding areas with 500 watts effective radiated power from an omnidirectional antenna. The station traces its origins to 1973, when it launched under the call sign WWGC while the institution was known as West Georgia College. It operated as a student-run outlet with a diverse college radio format in its early years. In August 1994 it became an affiliate of Public Radio International, shifting programming toward a roughly 70/30 split between satellite and student-produced content. The station was transferred outright to GPB in 2004. When GPB consolidated its broadcasting operations in Atlanta in 2008, the University of West Georgia Mass Communications department initiated efforts to establish a new independent student-run station, though the legacy license remained under GPB's operational control.
