Licensed to New Whiteland, Indiana, and owned by Olivet Nazarene University, the station operates at 88.3 FM and broadcasts a Christian adult contemporary format to the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area. Its transmitter is situated in Trafalgar, Indiana. The station's origins date to Horizon Christian Fellowship of Indianapolis, which originally launched the service under the branding "88.3 The Walk" with a worship music format. The Federal Communications Commission granted Program Test Authority on June 15, 2009, and the full license was issued on October 9, 2009. In 2011, Olivet Nazarene University acquired the station and rebranded it as part of its Shine.FM network identity. As a listener-supported Christian broadcaster, the station engages its audience through community programming and outreach initiatives. These include an annual Big Music Survey in which listeners evaluate an extensive playlist of approximately 300 songs to help shape the station's programming direction. Shine.FM also operates a new listener welcome packet program, sending introductory materials by post to recent first-time listeners.
