A commercial FM station in Anchorage, Alaska, operating a rhythmic hot adult contemporary format under the brand "Movin 105.7." It is owned by Last Frontier Mediactive, Inc., headed by Robert and Tor Ingstad, and broadcasts from a transmitter in Eagle River at 31,000 watts effective radiated power. The station's origins trace to September 15, 1960, when it signed on as KNIK-FM, a sister to KNIK 1270 AM (now KBYR 700 AM), named after the Knik River. It began by simulcasting the AM signal before developing its own programming, first with a beautiful music format featuring automated soft instrumentals, then transitioning to smooth jazz in the 1990s as the easy listening audience aged. In September 2009, the station launched a transition period—playing the top 100 songs from 1970 through 1989 at one year per day—before debuting an adult contemporary format branded as "Lite 105.7" on September 15, 2009, and adopting the call letters KNLT the following day. That format lasted three years. On August 31, 2012, after playing "Mary Jane's Last Dance" by Tom Petty, the station flipped to rhythmic AC as "Movin 105.7," launching with "Bust a Move" by Young MC. The call letters changed to KMVN on September 18, 2012. Alaska Integrated Media sold the station to Last Frontier Mediactive in March 2019.
