Its studios are housed in a building that deliberately straddles the Canada–United States international border, as well as the Quebec–Ontario provincial boundary, serving as a symbol of Mohawk sovereignty and communal unity across political borders. The call sign CKON derives from the Mohawk word "sekon" (also rendered "she:kon"), meaning "hello" in English. The station is reported to operate at 10,000 watts of effective radiated power, with its transmitter on the Canadian side of the Akwesasne territory. Programming covers local news and sports relevant to the Mohawk community and surrounding region.
