Founded in the mid-1970s as a low-power student laboratory station for speech instruction, the station evolved from basic equipment to professional broadcast standards. Initial transmitter facilities at the academic building relocated in 1989 to a dedicated tower structure, with subsequent studio modernizations in 1991 incorporating digital technology. Transition to computer-based audio systems occurred in 1998 and 2002 with expanded automation capabilities. The station expanded facilities in 2009-2010 with dedicated studio spaces in newly constructed broadcast facilities.
